It has a rounded, conical, blunt head with no beak; large, low, rounded dorsal fin; and flukes with a slight notch and rounded tips. The flippers are small and rounded and, commonly, the left one has serrations along its leading edge, although there are individuals with serrations on both flippers. It has a very distinctive black and white pattern; mostly white with a black head, face and cape, covering the dorsal fin to the flukes. They have a white throat and belly, with a black patch around the genital slit, shaped like a teardrop in males and like an irregular brushstroke in females. Calves are born grey, black and brown. This colouration turns to black and grey as a juvenile, and lightens to become the recognisable black and white of an adult. The colouration of this dolphin is striking and distinctive to each individual, making it a useful method for photoidentification.
Cranberries zoeken op het Waddeneiland Vlieland. facesofholland 2016-08-27 | Natuur laat zich niet dwingen in data. Dat blijkt wel weer als je nu langs de cranberry velden loopt. De bessen kleuren al rood en we willen niet te laat beginnen met ‘vrij’ geven van de pluk.Uiteraard besluit een plukker zelf wanneer hij/zij gaat bessen halen. Het is een uitstekend bessenjaar, dus er zal naar verwachting genoeg voor iedereen zijn. Lang niet alle bessen zijn al geschikt om te plukken, vaak is de bovenkant van de struik al mooi op kleur, maar de onderlaag nog niet. Het is de verantwoordelijkheid van de plukker om hier goed mee om te gaan.Ook dit jaar weer met de nodige vergunningen, voor commerciële plukkers en de eilanders die met plukbak tot 100 kg mogen plukken. Vlielanders en gasten die met de hand plukken voor eigen gebruik hebben geen vergunning nodig.De startdatum is in overleg met de Gemeente Vlieland voor 2016 vastgesteld op 20 augustus t/m 30 november 2016. Vergunningen kunnen van maandag t/m donderdag tussen 08.00 en 10.00 uur opgehaald worden in de Staatsbosbeheer werkschuur, Dennenlaan 4.

Er is gratis Wifi en er zijn ook 2 computers gratis te gebruiken.

Trauma Heli landt op het strand van Egmond aan Zee. S&R facesofholland 2016-02-29 | EGMOND-BINNEN - Een dertienjarig meisje is op het strand van Egmond Binnen van haar paard gevallen en is na de val tijdelijk niet aanspreekbaar. Het slachtoffer wordt door haar vriendin in de stabiele zijligging gelegd en een toevallig passerend arts verleend eerste hulp.Enkele minuten na de 112-melding is vanuit Egmond de terreinauto van de Egmondse Reddingsbrigade (ERB) onderweg naar het slachtoffer. Het eveneens gealarmeerde Kusthulpverleningsvoertuig (KHV) van KNRM station Egmond wacht op de twee aanrijdende ambulances.Als de terreinauto van de ERB ter plaatse is assisteert de bemanning de reeds aanwezige huisarts tot dat het ambulance personeel is gearriveerd. Het slachtoffer is inmiddels redelijk aanspreekbaar en wordt gestabiliseerd voor vervoer. Op het strand in Egmond aan Zee wordt een ruimte vrijgemaakt voor het Mobiel Medisch Team (MMT) welke met de traumahelikopter ter plaatse komt. Het slachtoffer wordt met het KHV van de KNRM vervoerd naar de gereedstaande ambulance en wordt met spoed naar het Medisch Centrum Alkmaar vervoerd. De bemanning van de KNRM en de ERB zorgen samen met de politie voor een veilig vertrek van de traumahelikopter.

The ferry ride takes about 1.5 hours and crosses the Wadden Sea and part of the North Sea. Tourists are not allowed to bring cars with them on the ferry. Another ferry runs between De Cocksdorp on Texel and the westernmost point of Vlieland. The most common form of transport on the island is the bicycle; a network of cycle paths criss-crosses the island. A bus service runs from the ferry terminal to the village and campgrounds after the arrival of a ferry, and some time before departure. There is a very small heliport near the village, but it is only used for SAR flights.

Het ligt ten oosten van Palma tussen Colonia Sant Jordi en Sa rapita in en is een van de weinige stranden op Mallorca dat gedeeltelijk als naaktstrand fungeert. There are 2 km of golden sand and crystal clear water - it's often referred to as Mallorca's answer to the Caribbean. Whilst long, the beach is not very deep, at 20 metres or so. It is very beautiful and despite it's relative remoteness, the beach remains very popular and is very busy during peak times.Facilities aren't bad at all for a beach without an attached resort. You'll find sunbeds and parasols for hire, lifeguards on duty, toilets, ramps for the disabled and restaurants. Try the bars at Ses Covettes for a more competitively priced beer.This has long been an unofficial nudist beach, even during the puritanical Franco era. For all its faults, it does make for a more peaceful, less commercial beach compared to some of the others on Majorca's coast.The shallow water makes it suitable for children.
