Bloodborne: Cleric Beast - Otamatone & Strings Cover || mklachu mklachu 2022-12-24 | Here is my unique take on one of Bloodborne's iconic themes, Cleric Beast, featuring a special little instrument that I don't get to use often: the Chihuahua Whistle (portraying the Cleric Beast in this video). Along with another surprise debut: me playing the cello! I've always wanted to learn how to play, and I finally ended up getting one! Luckily, this tune has a cello line that's simple enough for me to play!At first, I wanted to make this video for Halloween, but it ended up becoming a passion project that took more months than I had anticipated, and I'm really happy that I took the time that I did! Working on this video & arranging this beastly orchestral track really reinvigorated my passion for making covers again!This is a love letter to a game that I've only invested several hours into (so far). I never thought someone like me, a button-mashing fiend, could garner the patience to learn how to play this game with such calculation. And to be honest, I still struggle with the control scheme, but I'm improving! The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - Outset Island - Otamatone + Violin Cover || mklachu mklachu 2018-07-31 | HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYY!!If you know me, then you'll know that Wind Waker is my favorite Zelda game of all-time! Yes, it even surpasses Breath of the Wild still despite how much I've grown to love BotW, oops. This is Western Land from Mario Party 2, everybody's favorite game! Back when the Mario Party franchise was good (or at least, not terrible...) ANYWAY, gosh I've always adored the little costumes that each character wears in Mario Party 2 based on the map you play in, so I decided to dress up my Otamatones with cute cowboy hats and give it a go!This music in Western Land was always so memorable to me. It felt good to play the main melody on the violin, though I honestly didn't realize that other instruments (trumpet, clarinet, flute... all replaced by Otamatones here) had these call and response gestures that dove-tailed into one another. It was so fascinating, and I tried to utilize my video editing to demonstrate that interplay visually :')Oh yeah, I bought two new Otamatone Deluxes. They're not as superior as Tyrone (since fun fact -- each Deluxe varies in their set ranges, wowie!), but they have proved themselves to be useful. The white Otamatone Deluxe wearing the red hat is named "Barry" because he's sort of in the baritone range compared to Tyrone. And the black Otamatone Deluxe wearing the brown hat is "Fartony" because his low range sounds really... farty. Final Fantasy XV - Valse di Fantastica - Violin + Viola Cover || mklachu mklachu 2016-12-07 | Valse di Fantastica, also known as Altissia Theme, and formerly known as Gratia Mundi. Wow, that's a lot of names...Anyway, this rendition is very different from what I usually do and what I was originally going to do. Honestly, I was planning on recording a straight-up transcription cover as per usual... but then I woke up on this past Sunday morning AND HAD AN UNEXPLAINED EPIPHANY/THOUGHT -- I wanted to make this tune sound more lush and harmonically complex. For some reason, I just wanted to make something... different. And I feel like this was the first time I've really arranged music.I was aiming to make this arrangement sound melancholic as well, but instead it just sounds like a Christmas carol in a weird way. And I'm ok with that. It's still very pretty, (but of course, not nearly as pretty as the original because Yoko Shimomura is top tier). So I basically tossed away all my past week's progress and started from scratch and wrapped this up in the past couple of days.I've talked about this with a few friends before but -- if there were Piano Collections for stringed instruments, I may have barely dabbled into that territory. Maybe someday... The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - Ganondorf Battle - Orchestral Cover || mklachu mklachu 2016-11-30 | "It can only be called fate... that here, I would again gather the three with the crests... The power of the gods... The Triforce!"Wow, after several years of attempting to make this happen, I finally did it. I recreated one of my favorite songs and one of the most underrated tunes in Wind Waker -- the final boss theme!! It's not as gritty as other Ganondorf battle themes, and yet... the horns give Ganondorf this strange sense of nobility, and the vocals make this final moment sound so ethereal. I wanted to reintroduce these moments and express them through live instruments! And so, I did the best I could.
