In this video I will take you through my experience with the Qidi PLUS4 high speed core XY 3D printer. I've had the opportunity to test this printer for several months now and want to share my prints and experiences with you. Is this still a good printer in 2025? Let's find out!
First point to address is the general specs of this machine - it is a core XY motion system with all of the modern offerings of a 3D printer in 2025. The QIDI PLUS 4 boasts a heated build chamber that can maintain 65 degrees internally and has a very powerful hot end reaching an advertised temperature of 370 degrees to print advanced filaments. Combine that with a build volume of 305mm x 305mm x 280mm and you can take on some very serious projects!
As you will see in the video the printer has been very reliable for me - however I did have an initial issue with print quality that I resolved by resetting the build platform and manually levelling the bed. Perhaps the bed shifted in transit or maybe it was not calibrated very well at the factory but this resolved my issue and the prints from there looked exceptional.
I printed mostly in PLA for several months with this printer while dabbling in PETG including PETG-CF which is one of my favorite filaments to print for it's attractive finish. I also completed a mini project in this video printing a Hello Kitty Gundam model at 200% scale that had many, many parts that needed to fit together perfectly... and they all did!

Of my few criticisms of the QIDI Plus 4 model was that the screen takes a long time to load the print previews from the USB stick... I suspect this is software / firmware related but it is something to be aware of - but this shouldn't be a problem when using the web interface or sending files directly from the Qidi Studio Slicer.
