I don't usually vent or talk about things going on with me in depth, but maybe reading about my experience with these themes may give somebody hope that things can get better.At the start of last year, I fell into a severe depression. I'd had feelings like that before, but this time I fell in DEEP. Self hatred turned to self destruction and I started hurting myself, but before I even got a chance to process that I was breaking down, my suicidal thoughts began. These also got worse, until the point I almost committed suicide.It's been over a year since my last attempt, and I'm really grateful to say that I'm doing better. The thoughts still flutter back into my mind every now and then, but I've slowly grown to love life, and myself, again. I'm forever learning and still healing, but I can now (tearfully) say that I've found happiness again.If I could give anybody going through this advice, please, reach out. It doesn't matter to who, whether it's your partner, your best friend, your parents, sibling or even a stranger on suicide hotlines, please,, don't isolate yourself. I made the mistake of doing this last year, and I wish I wouldn't have shut everybody out. You're not alone, and no matter how hopeless things may seem, there really is a light at the end of the tunnel. I don't usually vent or talk about things going on with me in depth, but maybe reading about my experience with these themes may give somebody hope that things can get better.At the start of last year, I fell into a severe depression. I'd had feelings like that before, but this time I fell in DEEP. Self hatred turned to self destruction and I started hurting myself, but before I even got a chance to process that I was breaking down, my suicidal thoughts began. These also got worse, until the point I almost committed suicide.It's been many months since my last attempt, and I'm really grateful to say that I'm doing better. The thoughts still flutter back into my mind every now and then, but I've slowly grown to love life, and myself, again. I'm forever learning and still healing, but I can now (tearfully) say that I've found happiness again.If I could give anybody going through this advice, please, reach out. It doesn't matter to who, whether it's your partner, your best friend, your parents, sibling or even a stranger on suicide hotlines, please,, don't isolate yourself. I made the mistake of doing this last year, and I wish I wouldn't have shut everybody out. You're not alone, and no matter how hopeless things may seem, there really is a light at the end of the tunnel. I struggled with the first version of this, on top of how hard it was for me to make the background, I never really liked the result regardless of how hard I worked on it. That's why, when this piece went surprisingly well and I was PROUD of it, I was over the moon - and still am! I'm so happy that this time, I enjoyed drawing this piece, and I'm even more pleased with how it turned out.
