But since this is NOT the widely accepted industry standard, at least for the WRSTC or most major training agencies (like PADI, NAUI, SDI, SSI and others)... should it be the norm, or is it simply overkill? Is it realistic in every single scenario with every single student, and is it even practical for group classes within a typical budget of an Open Water certification course? OMG! Spider in the Scuba breathing regulator! -Scariest yet funniest original video The Scuba Diving Channel 2024-09-28 | Most people who watch this are both terrified and belly laughing all in the same breath. Those who’ve never considered scuba diving are definitely going to be a bit freaked out, but rest assured that spiders in the regulator are almost unheard of. It's super rare.This started off as an educational video on diving habits, but quickly devolved into nothing but pure entertainment by the end.However, this video does show you how to get the spiders out of the 2nd stage of the regulator.This is the original video that went viral on the Sweetwater Scuba channels showing the spider in the water barrel running across the water and jumping.These giant spiders all escaped.I never imagined that making a video like this would be such an undertaking, but here it is… enjoy!PS Scuba divers should not be afraid to dive because of spiders. As you can see it was EXTREMELY difficult to get a spider into a dive regulator to begin with. The biggest trick is to simply dive more and store it somewhere safe. Worst case, just do what we did. If somehow one did happen to get in there, they were easy to get out with a little water :0)
