Most long-time GoldenEye 007 fans are aware that, at one time in development, players could choose from a variety of different incarnations of James Bond in multiplayer. In fact, there is beta footage online of Connery in both Bunker and Archives multi, as well as images printed inside the official instruction manuals that were packaged with the game that show in-game screenshots and character select photos of those other actors. Sean Connery in his famous white tuxedo with a red rose, Roger Moore in his buttoned-up black tux, and Timothy Dalton in his relaxed, unbuttoned tuxedo. The only one missing from this list of classic Bonds, is George Lazenby. But not anymore. For the first time, every Bond (Brosnan and prior) is available in one complete package. Either play as your favourite 007, or battle against them. Whose shoes will you step into?
Somebody had better order up another round of martinis...

A lot of little things have been updated, corrected and added to this release of GoldenEye X (Patch 5c). There's two new levels in Virtual Reality mode: the classic GameShark hack Facility Backzone, and a temple ruins only section of Aztec. Firing rates for the Magnum, Moonraker Laser and Grenade Launcher are more accurate. The launching distance of grenades is now shorter (like the original), and rockets are slightly slowed down. Hand grenades have a quicker detonation time, as well. The entire music soundtrack for multiplayer is in place, plus the rockin' End Credits track. A glitch that allowed players to collect items on overhead walkways was dealt with. The menu system was altered, removing the projectional effects from the background. Character Point of Views have been adjusted, and male/female combinations head alignments improved. Turbo Mode option allows players to move more quickly, and a cheat option for the mission campaign included. EliteSims don't spawn with body armour when it's available in the level. There's even more I won't mention here. Keep an eye out for the official release!

Here is your first look at the newest release of the GoldenEye X game mod (5b). It still features the "All Bonds" characters, 30 Assignments in VR Mode, and all previous additions made to 5a. However, a great deal has been revised and updated. Weapon firing rates are almost all corrected (with exceptions currently being the Moonraker Laser and Grenade Launcher), tons of sound effects were replaced to match the original game, and a new colour scheme was setup for your ammunition bars and function displays. You'll also find a modified version of Cradle is available in VR mode. This level may not stay around in future releases, so definitely enjoy it while it's here. There's two bonus weapons for use in VR, as well. The Seeker (PD's Slayer, but with a Homing Missile primary function), and also a personal drone gun. Just select it out of your quick menu and throw it on a surface to instantly have automatic defenses for yourself and your teammates. Grenades and Timed Mines weapon sets have been included, which completes the full 14 sets. We've swapped out the two Elevator songs for Silo X (now looping) and the End Credits theme. Caverns VR has been vastly improved, so Simulants are now much more capable of navigating the stage. Other levels have had door operation speeds updated, and Train now uses the proper door sounds. There may not be a lot of "new" content, but there has been a lot done to improve the game since 5a's release. Also try finding the two GE stages in the mission campaign. It's a simple glimpse of things to come!

Formerly known as Hacker Central, Space Race requires the player to procure the GoldenEye Key. Once in your possession, you must locate the computer terminal somewhere in the level. When within range, you can upload firing commands to the GE satellite. Whoever uploads the most (or reaches the goal limit), will be declared the winner.

Patch 3a introduced three more classic weapons from GoldenEye. Two of them are silenced variations of weapons already available in previous releases; the PP7 Special Issue and D5K Deutsche. The third is the lesser known Shotgun, which was only accessible in GE through the All Guns cheat option, or with a cheating device (GameShark or Action Replay).
Hopefully we'll be able to get another two or three weapons into the next full-point release, bringing us closer to a complete arsenal.

Unlike in the original GoldenEye 007, you have complete control over your multiplayer (Virtual Reality mode) soundtrack selection. You can choose from forty-two tracks, put together a set of songs that change during the course of the match, or let it choose one of them randomly. So if you have a favourite theme, you can now rock out to it while battling your friends and foes.
