The contents include a documentary about the Philippines and live concert footage of Seiko Matsuda. The W-VHS tape was played back on a Victor HR-W5 VCR.

2026 Seattle Superbowl Victory Celebration (Sony Hi8 Analog Camcorder Footage) SoloKMusic 2026-02-09 | I took my Sony CCD-TR101 Hi8 Camcorder and 0.42X fisheye lens for another spin, this time to the streets of Seattle after the Seahawks won the 2026 Superbowl. It was quite the celebration, cars honking, people coming out to the middle of the road to cheer and shoot off fireworks. Someone "kisses" the lens around the 0:52 mark.The camera had some trouble autofocusing with all the lights and fisheye on, but it was a fun learning experience.

Accidents Will Happen (Elvis Costello cover) by SoloK, recorded onto Tascam 244 4-track SoloKMusic 2025-06-13 | Here is a cover of Elvis Costello's "Accidents Will Happen" I did recently on my Tascam Portastudio 244 4-track recorder. The 4-track has been proving to be a versatile and inspiring (if light) workflow environment and I am always excited to be learning new ways to use the analog medium. Speaking of analog, I also have a W-VHS VCR (analog HD in 1035i). Using Da Vinci Resolve, I created a lyric video to the track in an analog color test meets Closed Captioning style, recorded the video onto W-VHS, and digitized the output. The visual artifacts you see in the video are partly due to the medium but partly due to my very complicated and cramped cable "management"...A little trick I discovered for the mixdown process is to route the output from the 4-track through my W-VHS deck, which is itself being digitized. If I want, I can make an analog copy on (W-)VHS at the same time as monitoring and digitally capturing the output. That and the fact that playing with the volume faders can create a fun tremelo effect.
