Little did I know we'd be talking about the first official release of a Famicom only title.It's first official time leaving Japan, we get the collector's edition of Holy Diver. This Japanese clone of Castlevania has become a bit of a collectors item. So IREM and Retro-bit teamed up to finally ship it worldwide! Long after their original release, both Super Nintendo R-Type games are being rereleased with a collector's edition style pedigree! The Nintendo Entertainment System really had it all when it came to redundant accessories. Even the original controller had an overflow of reiterationsThese peripherals, more often than not, cast a shadow over the thought of anything outside a controller and zapper combo.the Advantage never took off commercially. Its most iconic role was controlling the statue of liberty in Ghostbusters 2. That STILL wasn't enough to win over the heart of gamers. This plug and play device slides right on to the back of your PC Engine, Supergrafx, or Turbografx console. There is only one output on this. Its the Sega Model 2 MiniDIN out. Which support both stereo sound and full RGB. The SD System 3 only reads certain formats. It's best to ensure that you're using either FAT32 or exFAT. Super SD System 3 has System Card 3 and the Arcade Cards built onto the board. So there'll be no need to purchase these and HuCards will work out of the box. The Super CD games do require a BIOS file to launch.Select a HuCard from the menu and it loads in a flash! An NES hombrew game which took Kickstarter as a funding route and was successful by 300% their goal!This demo, more than anything, gave us a good idea of the final product. Twin Dragons is not only fun, but really offers up a challenge. Each area has 3 stages and a boss fight. I thought it was going to be me coasting through the game, but I got stuck on a few of the stages and had to continue... MULTIPLE TIMES! The game is fleshed out way more, beautifully packaged and finally ready to play! What started out as a Development competition, turned into a full game, delivered some passion and fueled by kickstarter. Well the game does take a huge departure from the normal conventions, but this got me excited. Innovations in the mega man series have run dry and I applaud them for trying.The cutscenes are one of the main things talked about when Mega Man 8 is brought up. EVERYONE gets a chuckle at the some what horrible voice acting. Dr light in particular. But I dont care!! Growing up in the 80s and 90s we watched a TON of hokey cartoons and this was standard fare.
