Myth is famous for its 3d perspective, its tactics, its story, and maybe its gore more than anything else. So, if you want blood, if you want to bathe in blood, if you want to bathe in blood for a week, this is your game. I'll undoubtedly find ways of splattering my troops' entrails throughout the countryside. Enjoy!

Myth: The Fallen Lords is the first in a series made by Bungie. Humanity is in the fight of its life against an undead horde known as the Fallen. We find ourselves on the very precipice of doom, at the end of our rope, up Shit Creek without a paddle, all at once. Somehow, we've got to fight back. Then we've got to burn our clothing because I reckon Shit Creek don't wash out, I tell you what.

This footage comes from a Twitch stream recorded on 6/15/2024 on my channel, twitch.tv/effingcontroller. You are going to notice some seemingly random sound effects that play throughout this run. This is thanks to a Twitch soundboard bot I created, which my viewers use to entertain themselves and distract me.

Our random run rampages on! After obtaining our atakabune (which I mistakenly call a tekkousen throughout this video, don't yell at me), we try to figure out how this huge mess of a world works and how many isthmuses block our path. We also stumble upon a highly lucrative and extremely broken trade route...

This is thanks to a Twitch soundboard bot I created, which my viewers use to entertain themselves and distract me. Despite their best efforts (seriously, they nearly derailed the run at one point), we managed to snag a world record run. You guys brought a lot of joy to this silly use of my time so I am grateful for all of the dumb fart noises that you subjected me to during this and every other run.
Of all the scenarios in Uncharted Waters: New Horizons, Joao's is my least favorite. There's a lot of sailing back and forth between distant ports, and some mandatory combat that feels pretty unfair if you're a new player. Also, Joao himself is a chump and I don't like him. So, it was only natural to play his scenario as a speedrun, and devote dozens of hours towards learning and playing the run so that you only have to watch three and a half hours of his scenario. I'm choosing to believe that my loss is your gain. You're welcome.

Despite the box art, Close Combat has nothing to do with phones. It's a top-down strategy game that puts you in command of a company of soldiers in the immediate aftermath of the D-Day landings. You can play as the Americans or as the Germans, and either way, you're going to be facing serious challenges.
One of the key features of this game is that it models each one of your men's physical, emotional, and psychological state throughout your battles. They become less and less effective as combat strains their bodies and their minds. Sometimes, they will refuse to follow your orders; other times, they might break and run. You'll learn who you can rely on in a fight... and who might be better left behind the front lines.
I am playing this on an original Power Macintosh G3, and I'm playing it on the original CD-ROM disc that I had as a kid. The drive is loud. I know. The next time I play, I'll try to play it off of a disc image instead. But in the interest of authenticity, I'm keeping it for this first session.

Oxyd is the brainchild of Meinolf Schneider and was released in 1990 through his company called Dongleware. We'll talk about how that's more than just a funny name, and we'll also familiarize ourself with some of the basics of handling balls.
