In my opinion, most of the themes in M&L almost feel too 'happy' considering they're supposed to be boss themes. This theme really encapsulates the feeling of "This is a BOSS battle, so you better focus" a lot better than the others which suits it seeing as it's the darkest game in the series. The second part of the boss theme from Bowser's Inside Story does it well too but Partners in Time does it best IMO. It's IMO, one of the highlights of the game. The long intro gives a sense of dread and really let's you know that you're in Bowser's territory now, tread lightly (Even though the 'Bosses' were pushovers but let's ignore that, the levels and aesthetic were awesome). I like how music orientated SMB Wonder is. Most of the music changes slightly depending on whether you're moving or not and adds extra brass instruments to every track when you're in elephant form. It's a nice touch for people who notice that kind of thing.
