This technique is still pretty good and it's something that game devs still do to this day (kinda like an excuse to hide the age of their game engine). L4D2 Incapacitated Camera Swaying is tied to FPS Busty 2024-03-02 | When you become Incapacitated your camera begins to Sway Slightly, indicating that you're down and can't move. Turns out if you play with an uncapped frame rate or by have it cap to the games default FPS (300) the camera begins to Sway Uncontrollably. Not sure if it's a bug or an intended feature that Valve designed but it's pretty interesting.
