Tetris on the Glasses (Kinda) BoomInTheShot 2008-06-05 | Me playing the Tetris theme (Korobeiniki) on filled wine and champagne glasses with a special appearance by cordial glass. I also added some dyes to make it pretty.... not that you can really see them. It took a while, but this turned out to be the best location and take. Unfortunately some of the water had evaporated by then, messing up the tuning, but oh well. It was fun, and that's the whole point.
Thats A Lie. BoomInTheShot 2017-08-25 | FAIR USE IN EFFECT - scene study for educational purposes only.As far as scene study goes, this is one of my favorite dialogues in this series. Every single time I watch this episode, I await this exchange. Gilfoyle's seemingly fearless delivery makes me really wonder what, for Martin Starr, is going on in the subtext of his character that allows him to be so deadpan. He is collected despite that we find out early on in the episode (in passing) that Tara has lied to him about having sex with someone else, an act that usually would be otherwise perfectly ok in their polyamorous relationship. Clearly honesty is a trigger for him, but because of his delivery, it flies under the radar of the bigger issues that everyone else is facing. He brings up the concept of lying and how it doesn't make sense to him many times in this episode, but no one questions him, and he doesn't fish to divulge, thus lying in covering up his own feelings. He even says that there is no good and evil in spite of his feeling personally wronged (and not just by Tara). Meanwhile, feigning discomfort as Jared/Donald, Zach Woods has the challenge of lying about a dishonest move his character pulled, one that could cost them everything, everything that Richard, whom he idolizes, has worked so hard to get. He's put them all, Richard especially, in a horrible position that will only result in more dishonesty if they are to stay afloat and come out of this unscathed. In both cases, each of these characters has grappled with dishonesty in their own way, and in both cases, the atrocities, so to speak, were committed in order to "protect" a loved one. On top of that, none of it is even real, and that's what makes them so talented. Let that simmer for a bit.

The idea was a spy exchange wherein at least one of two spies knows they are being watched by a CIA operative. A predetermined signal is given, but the operative must not witness the exchange that follows the signal. The audience is to witness the exchange. Also, we were told to use cool spy music. I picked The Mars Volta.
Old Soul BoomInTheShot 2009-02-10 | This is the third version of my documentary for Marty Camden's COMM 242 class. This documentary features my cousin, Zion, who has been playing the guitar since he was eight years old. Some of the pictures are very blurry due to quality issues of original photos; this is something I want to fix. This version took many hours, so I hope you like it.====Never imagined that 17 years later I'd look back on my first film school project (filmed in October 2008) and appreciate so much that we made this, rough edges and all. Zion grew up to be an amazing, talented, kind-hearted man who left a lasting impression in his relatively short time on this planet. He made us appreciate nature, its sights and sounds, and the little peculiarities of life. I'll likely never quite understand why the universe works in the way it does, but I'm glad that he was and always be my little cousin.
Video Exercise 1 BoomInTheShot 2008-10-24 | This was just an exercise for cutting sound and video in FCP. I realize that the tracking shot is horrible, but that will happen when all you have is a swivel chair on a carpeted floor. The assignment was to have 2 images; one involving very little movement and the other involving camera and/or subject movement. We were then asked to put sound clips taken elsewhere over these clips, so I went for contradiction. It's an easy assignment but it took quite a bit of time.
VEx 2: Love, Lust, and Loss BoomInTheShot 2008-10-14 | This is an epic tale of Love, Lust, and Loss. Mostly loss of a few frames of audio. It took hours in a really hot editing room for what was originally a simple exercise to turn this into a nostalgic piano piece. Enjoy it.
