Honestly surprised it took me this long to do a parody, since it's definitely one of my favorite songs from New Vegas.

Decided to keep the chorus mostly the same, so I try to tell a bit of a new tale in the verses, with a bit of an ironic twist at the end.

Just a fun little tune to accompany the next Confessions, which is coming up quickly! It seems it'll sync up with The Engineer, The Ice Mare, and The Mercenary by being a late August release...

It's a long one, but I think people will love it!

So, classically late to the party as ever, I only just discovered Beetlejuice The Musical in September of last year.

Now, I've always been a pretty big Beetlejuice fan. I was a stereotypical Tim Burton fan (I mean still am, obviously). The first song parodied on my channel came from Nightmare Before Christmas. Heck, Beetlejuice was the first Blu-ray I ever bought for my Xbox One.

Needless to say, I'm a big fan of the show, and hate the fact that I missed the party when Sophia Anne Caruso was still Lydia. Really hoping they release a recording of one of those old shows one day. The fan animatics on here are really fun though, the official YouTube channel even has a playlist of them. So that's the best way to consume them right now.

Been a long time since I did just a classic parody song. Today marks 90 days since my copyright strike, so I am in the clear now (and the song has already been claimed, so there shouldn't be anything else coming).

Since I'm in copyright purgatory, how about a celebration of this anniversary with a rejected concept?

I put (relatively) too much work into this video graphics for a shitty parody idea, LOL. After learning from my mistakes with the Rainbow Factory "a capella" I knew this kind of playing with song structure was cringe and threw it away. Instead, in November 2013, I did the vastly superior "Name of Strife" parody instead.

I think the lyrics had something to do with Fighting Is Magic getting C&D-ed or something. It was a half-assed way of supporting the cause, probably would have done a BananaCast on it today to greater effect instead. But they had their good end with Lauren's help and the new characters.

Anyway, after 7 years in my "recycle bin," enjoy this...

Boy that Autumn Wind sure is blowing isn't it? Makes you almost miss something that's already gone... LOL

So, I actually first heard this song in Blade Runner 2049 (which I watched back-to-back with the MLP movie, which was amazing). It really fit the aesthetic of that for sure, and I've already referenced Blade Runner in at least one other song (My Way). So hopefully you like the color scheme. Have to admit, most of the lyrics are the same, but I changed enough to place in the context of the Great War.

The Confessions Finale writing is coming along nicely... and boy do I sure like singing Sinatra...

This is a song I've wanted to parody for a very long time... Especially after the success of "The Mare of Nightmare Night" a few years ago: youtube.com/watch?v=bp4ytNe2Ygo

As a fan of The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy growing up, this was my first introduction to Voltaire's music, and I think it's still a fan favorite...

In that case, it was easy to adapt in the context of Fallout: Equestria ghouls. The premise is very simple, it's a Nightmare Night long after the war. Kids like to be scared, but it's good to teach them lessons when you can (think Grimm's fairy tales). So one theatrical buck in their village is going to do just that, in a Nightmare Night show they won't soon forget.

SkyBolt 2019-10-05 | Well it's Joker weekend and boy have people really been talking about the movie... LOL. Society aside, it was a good movie, very character heavy and disturbing (appropriately). I still think Dark Knight is much more fun and re-watchable though.

But hearing the old Jimmy Durante version of Smile in the trailers definitely made me want to do a cover. So I thought to myself, "How would a song like this figure into the Batman universe?"

And then with the Birds of Prey trailer I thought of it. This would be the kind of song Joker would use to woo Harley back after getting rough with her. A dark concept about abusive codependency? Yes... but it's still much less dark than the actual Joker movie... lol.

So, this is a parody I've been wanting to do for a while, but couldn't quite figure out the approach to take with it... Given the storyteller nature of the song, I finally settled on the idea of a father teaching his kid about surviving the wasteland.

In doing so, he tells them about their mother and how she helped him escaped the city and ultimately find a place for them both to settle down. So hopefully you enjoy the bit of parental bonding...

SkyBolt 2019-06-21 | So, the weeb internet is very upset today (for one of many reasons) because the Netflix #Evangelion dub didn't get the license for the #FlyMetotheMoon cover found in the credits?

That seems ridiculous to me in terms of licensing... they really couldn't get the rights? To me that seems like as big a blunder as New Vegas not getting some Elvis music.

I've thought of doing this Fallout: Equestria parody for a while anyway, so now seemed like as good a time as any! LOL. Lyrically the idea definitely banks off of the Blue Moon story with Freezie & Chrysanthemum.

Unfortunately it's been a while since I posted a song... was finishing up Pillars of Equestria stuff, then I had BABSCon, then I got damn sick with con pox and couldn't sing for a while.

Hopefully this makes up for it though, because I'm really happy with how it came out...

Whereas a lot of my FOE songs are about finding that special someone, Wanderer was always great because it has a bit of a nihilistic hedonism idea behind it... in the context of Fallout anyway... so obviously that's what I went with!

Added a small sound effect in the middle which is audio from an actual nuclear test! Upshot-Knothole, I believe.

This started out (similar to The Bad and The Ugly) by me seeing a piece of fan art that got the music juices flowing.

Following the concept of the picture, this is clearly a 4chan /mlp/ lurker tortured by his love for Sunset Shimmer on a board that has been hostile to EQG & hands.

But my best pony has floated a bit over the years and Rainbow Rocks I think sealed the deal with Sunny Shim.

You can probably credit DWK for this song too, since I discovered the artist "Anontheanon" from him.

SkyBolt 2018-09-22 | I think it's no secret at this point that I'm a big fan of Imagine Dragons. I've parodied 3 of their songs (before this) and they all turned out quite well in terms of reception.

I've had a shortlist of some other songs of theirs I've been wanting to rewrite for a while, but then this "Natural" song dropped a few weeks ago and instantly rose to the top of the list.

I really look for a spark of a rewrite idea before I do a parody and this one hit instantly as "Raider Song". So, here we go.

American Anthem

SkyBolt 2018-07-04 | Since high school when I first really sang the anthem as part of choir, I've really been fascinated by old early American music... including songs like Battle Hymn of the Republic too.

One thing that's always bothered me about the anthem though, vs those old songs, is that it has been commercialized and disrespected to the point that everyone seems to forget that the American Republic was forged in the burning fires of war.

So for this Independence Day... a celebration of American freedom, self-determination, and spurning of all foreign controls on our sovereignty... I wanted to record an a capella performance of the song reflecting the warfare America was born in.

Millions of lives across a dozen generations fought for the freedoms of their family, present and future... And while it has been corrupted across just as many generations, the spirit, the foundation myth of the United States of America is one that can inspire still.

PYRO - SkyBolt - (Firework, Katy Perry, Rewritten)

SkyBolt 2018-06-16 | So when I was gathering up the old song files to remaster them for the "Summer Silliness" album, I came across A LOT of old stuff that I never actually released for one reason or another.

I'm prepping some other videos right now actually to make them at least decently presentable that people might enjoy.

Since it's summer, I guess you could say I'm turning some old lemons into lemonade...

Anyway, here is one that holds a special significance for me, because it is the second song I ever parodied... the first being the JSB "Don't You Forget About Me" thing I did for Senior Prom.

This one I rewrote in university during my Sophomore year, already toying with the idea of doing my own "Weird Al" type parodies, this one a play on something like "The Night Santa Went Crazy."

I was just starting to think about the idea of doing pony stuff too, this was only a few months before I wrote "What's This... Ponies?"

I forgot that sometime in 2013 (around the time I released Facing the Fallout) I actually re-recorded this parody with my BLUE Snowball...

So, with a bit of tweaking this was all ready to go! And with Independence Day upon us, I think it's the perfect thing to celebrate.

Summer Silliness - SkyBolt (Compilation Album)

SkyBolt 2018-06-15 | Happy Summer Everyone! (in the Northern Hemisphere)

It is just starting to really simmer here in California, so I thought it was finally time to put together this compilation.

I've been planning this since early last year when I assembled the "Conventions & Classics" album. It was a hard choice on which album some of these songs would go into, but now you know...

This album has tweaked and Remastered versions of a lot of my really old songs from 2012-2014, as well as some more recent ones. For those of you new to the channel, hopefully you enjoy the blast from the past.

Also included are my two lead Snoopy songs from a dead production of "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown."

It's really sad because I recorded all my parts for all of the songs (that took like 4 months)... but at least I have the two solo songs which turned out pretty good.

This also wraps up a lot of my older songs into Compilation albums now. I only have a handful left scattered in different places, so I'm not sure when the next album will be.

It'll probably be a giant Fallout: Equestria album to be honest... Wrapping up non-Lo-Fi versions of my Big Band songs and all of the theatrical type songs like Brave New World & Everybody Knows.

Those might be separate albums though, and they might be on the EAST Corp channel, not sure yet.
