This is all of the challenges, but I like the later levels better so I went through them backwards
Anyone care to show me their skill? I'd like to see some trick videos for this game, and I wish Microsoft would support a sequel ( Not the crap that Nintendo tried to give us for the Wii with that MiniCopter let-down )

This tutorial shows how to create armatures and vertex groups for both sides of a mesh that was created with a mirror modifier, /without/ applying the mirror modifier
** Notice: A commenter was right, this is not a tutorial, it's just a... I dunno. A really slow timelapse? I'm going to make a proper tutorial soon **
I was too tired to do something complicated, but too wired to stop streaming, so I did a quick ~30 minute high poly Rubik's cube. Before the modeling, I did a 2m:12s 3x3x3 solve (which is embarrassing).

My personal rule is that you need to snag from the same flying height as you pull ( ie, don't drop down to snag, then fly up to pull )stick1.aviAlexander Smith2011-07-18 | This is a horrible stick-figure animation I did to get going. Just like those post-it note flip books from school, every frame was redrawn ( poorly )

Hey, found this on accident so I recreated it deep within my lair ( MWAHAHAHA )
My guess is that if you break the piston /right/ as it fully extends, the arm remains in the world
I was able to reproduce it 2 and a half more times after I ( kindof ) figured out the timing. That half-time was the time I got it but it disappears after a few hundred milliseconds. Sorry for the video quality, my software defaulted it's settings apparently, so it's crapDrawing of a head and shouldersAlexander Smith2011-06-18 | Just something I recorded randomly. I didn't think to start my recording when I started, so I used Gimp's undo to go as far back as I could, then recorded while holding ctrl+y , lulz
Free hand, no guide, proportions are probably off. Just having fun with it.Zelda Ocarina Of Time on myTouch4gAlexander Smith2011-05-16 | This is me beating the first boss on Zelda OOT using n64oid ( by the same guy who does nesoid, snesoid, etc on the android market )
For some reason, he took the emulator down***, but I found the APK elsewhere. To yongzh; I'd have bought this if it were still for sale. Iron out some of the bugs and put it back up! I'll buy it from you like I did the rest of the "*oid" series, they're awesome!
This demonstration is to show a few things; 1: The myTouch4g has enough power to run the emulator and this game 2: The on-screen controls are COMPLETELY usable, even for fine aiming ( mine's a bit off here because I just got the emulator ) 3: You can get this far without n64oid's current version bugging out** xD
Notes: **1: actually, it bugged out plenty of times, usually when going from one area to another ( memory read/allocation issue? ). Save often. Restarting from the save seems to go just fine.
2: This is not my best effort here, but not bad. I usually down him on the first slingshot hit, but I missed hitting the onscreen button because I was paying attention to the recording
*** Update 2013-05-01: I just read my description again and realized that it sounded like I just downloaded the APK because I didn't want to pay for it. At the time, it had just been removed from the Google App market (before it was GooglePlay) and it wasn't available for purchase anywhere. Since then, Yongzh has re-released it on SlideME . If you want to use this app, I highly recommend buying it from there to help with further development. Thanks Yongzh!Macro photography using an 18-55mm lens in reverse ( dime front )Alexander Smith2011-04-09 | This is a video taken with my Canon 600D/T3i , using an 18-55mm lens. I've turned it around and used it here to take some macro video
This is by no means a technical masterpiece; I'm holding the lens in place with my hand because I don't have a reverse connection ring, the light is my LED Lenser P7 ( also hand-held ), and the dime is dirty, as I noticed after I was watching the video on my computer after the fact
Regardless, I wanted to get some video up of the possibilities of macro shots for new DSLR users. I just got my T3i and this is using that 18-55mm lens that came with it, so you could do this out-of-the-box ( though I recommend the reverse mounting ring, a tripod, WAY better light, and possibly a better and less-usual subject )
These are the kinds of adapters you can use to do this properly. I've gotten one since I made this video and it's very nice.Little Alex chirps at reflected lightAlexander Smith2011-03-06 | She usually does this for lasers, but I didn't have one handy. Instead, I used the reflection of the sun from my other camera's screen.

I recorded the to the IPO from the game engine. Because I did so, the video is 2x slower than "real time" ( the game engine defaults to like 60fps, the render default is 25 ). I re-rendered at the correct rate, but slower looks cooler and is a better video ( lengthwise ) for YouTube.

When my head hit the ground, the should have ended the run ( a bunch of times ) , but it didn't. I thought the amount of blood coming out of the head was pretty funny
Apparently, the game was tracking me against one of my friends on XBL . My video editing software is pretty basic and can't manage a blur or anything like that, so I just put a random picture of fire in front of the name.Human anatomy form study time lapseAlexander Smith2008-12-30 | This was a session recorded while hanging out at the local game shop while my buddies were painting miniatures :D
Started from a rough skeleton, then added muscle, then finished with a rough form
Problems I'm already aware of:
- The neck started out WAY too long, and ended up too long still ( even after modification )
- The head is shaped funny
- After reviewing my anatomy book, I realized the Deltoid and Pectoralis Major should be more integrated
- The arm on the left ( the subject's right arm ) was modified after I realized the position of the biceps and triceps were placed for a different pose
- I know very little about facial anatomy, and I know equally little about leg anatomy
- Yes, this guy has no junk. It's just a rough form ( and I don't feel like posting a detailed drawing of a guys junk on youtube )
- The abs are too well defined for the final form, but to be honest this was more of a muscular study anyway
- I think the proportions ( other than the head and neck mentioned above ) are a bit off
I'm sure I noticed other oddities, but I don't remember them all to list above :p . Criticisms welcome ( as well as expected/requested )
