Meaty Jesus The Backlogs accidentally left the door open so I just let myself in. Here's me having a go at that One Shot Contest all the other Soulstubers have been doing.

Since I included it in the video, here is why I think Fire Surge counts as one attack: There is no distinction between pressing or holding the attack button in either The Backlog's or Vageta311's rules. Much like Fire Tempest, Fire Surge factors in buffs from BEFORE the first cast. This means if the first cast didn't have the Red Tearstone Ring buff, even if the player's health later drops into the appropriate range the buff still won't be applied to any subsequent casts. Something something, Pannenkoek2012's Half A-Press Theorem.

Dark Souls but Enemies Get Faster After Each Boss

Meaty Jesus 2024-02-17 | I try to beat every boss in Dark Souls, except after beating a boss every enemy in the game gets a speed buff. With foes getting up to 2.3x faster than normal, is it even possible to beat the game?

The speed boost was accomplished by changing the "grabityrate" parameter of every enemy in DSMapStudio manually. As such this isn't an actual mod that's available for download.

Chat sabotaged my first nuzlocke of Pokémon Violet

Meaty Jesus 2023-02-21 | I couldn't have picked a worse set of rules for my first playthrough of this game.

Since it was never fully explained in the video, the rewards were all on a cooldown timer of anywhere between 5-15 minutes, and each viewer could only redeem each reward once or twice per stream. I intentionally streamed the game in 7-10 hour intervals to filter out all my regular viewers. For the Elite 4 I temporarily changed some rewards from "3 trainer battles" to just one.

Also, while the oxidation of metals can occur without water or salt, the addition of saltwater accelerates the process of corrosion by introducing more free-flowing ions into the mix.

EXPLANATION OF RULES HERE
Banned actions:
- When slidekicking off a ledge, the player can input A and effectively jump middair. This only barely deviates from a standard jump, and is banned.
- When the player is knocked airborne after taking damage, it is also possible to jump out of the hitstun.
- Releasing a pole early by pressing A puts the player in a jump-like state.
- Triangle jumps are parallel jumps between walls and are banned by technicality, for reasons explained in the video.
- In power formation, when the power character is unable to move (i.e. after a combo), but the speed character can, it is possible to input a jump where only the speed/flying characters will jump, and the player character will remain stationary. This is banned because it circumvents the Triangle Jump technicality, as well as resets the ability to use Tornado (more info in the video). However, having the power or flying followers jump is okay, as no advantages exist for doing so.
- Initiating flight in the flight formation.

Permitted actions that are similar to jumps:
- Pressing A to release a lift ring/swinging vine. While the former does put the player in a jump-like state, it does not reset tornado or triangle jump (again, explained in video), and the jump-state offers no meaningful advantages. I personally just thought it would be lame to keep getting softlocked on chinup bars with no way to let go.
- Rail switching is also allowed, though I did scrutinize this one a lot. The reason for allowing it is that only sideways momentum is gained, and rail-switching onto nothing puts the player in freefall, not a jump-state. No actions can be inputted while in freefall. However, holding neutral on the control stick to jump off a railing is the same as a standard jump, and as such is not allowed.

All gameplay was recorded on the Dolphin Gamecube emulator. Save states were used to gather most of the footage.

Elden Ring: How To Enter Leyndell Early (Maidenless, No Great Runes, Divine Bridge Elevator Skip)

Meaty Jesus 2022-03-28 | Working as of patch 1.05. This video shows how to use the Ruptured Crystal Tear to bypass the elevator in the Divine Bridge, skipping over a bunch of the game's progression. This was done on NG+ on a character that had acquired none of the Great Runes, and hadn't accepted Melina's offer. This exploit lets you skip the elevator and enter Leyndell the Royal Capital way earlier than intended. I used this to get the Bolt of Gransax early for the Legendary Armaments achievement so I could 100% the game.
