And... I'm also sorry that this video is so late. Blame college work seriously, it's hard.
You guys are the best, and I hope this journey can only go up from here.

Another strategy found! This time involves a unique Phase 1 that sadly gets 1 frame off dizzy on NTSC P1's. But it does dizzy Chan here and saves 0.20's on PAL... because of course why not?
As I was doing attempts I asked Akiteru if phase 1 had to be frame perfect and right as he sent me the message answering my question... I immediately got it after 2 frame perfect phase 1s. For the first one I forgot what the Phase 2 buffer was so who knows if I could have done it on my first perfect P1 lol.
Seemed like a fail... only Akiteru tried this on PAL instead of NTSC and... it not only dizzies Clown on the PAL version, but it saved 0.13's.
Say yay! Another new strategy was discovered and coincidentally it has the same odds as the NTSC 9.01 strategy. The only difference is that it's 5 frame perfect inputs instead of 7. (It can technically be 4 but I decided not to buffer punch #5 to reduce rng).
Took a while but I finally got it, and on my birthday of all days! Turned 22 this year and this was a nice gift to have!
Jumping Jack was an IL that I have probably put in the most amount of time into compared to a lot of hard IL's in this game. When it came up in Championship #38 I was really determined to secure myself a first-place time. The TAS for this level is 11.45 but given that runners have had crazy experiences where they end up beating TAS by a frame with a slight improvement or have something completely ridiculous happen (like with Kid Icarus last week lol), I wasn't getting my hopes up.
But then it turns out 11.45 was a 5-way first-place tie and... I was one of them. It feels amazing to get this and I was so damn happy to see number 1 next to it. I really do want to thank the NWC NES Edition community for the support on this one, it means a lot!
Also, want to thank Dyl for showing me how to do the ladder glitch in DK Bottom Rung effectively which also gave me inspiration to try Z2 Low-Key Hero with a different control setup which also worked!
The only level that didn't carry over from the previous video was Z2 Cliff Jumping because now the TAS for that level is no longer 11.33 but rather a 11.21. My PB is a 11.26 but couldn't cut the extra frames. SMB3 Super Leaf in the Wind has also been improved by 1 frame that I was able to successfully save and the new ones I was able to achieve were ones that I didn't realize were super bad like Z1 Deadeye or KI Water Divination.
Oh and I got Jumping Jacks... Probably the hardest one in my compilation video. Been working on that one for a stupid long time and it wasn't till now I started doing it since it came up in Championship 38.

Phew, what a mouthful. 45 TAS ties should be within reach eventually but I think the next time I make another video like this is when I get to 50. Thanks for watching!
Update 7/25/2025 - I got five more TASes: Mushzoom 3 (3.35), The Body Will Follow (5.88), Mario VS. 1-1 (20.05), Curtain Call: Lemmy (9.10), and Cliff Jumping (11.21)
But I would never get an attempt completed because my luck was just horrible. And I have given up on this fight after getting 100+ 33 Phase 1's and five 54's. But then I would do this fight in on-and-off sections starting around late 2024 if I had to guess. Then on this lucky night, it FINALLY happened and I don't see myself grinding this fight ever again due to how horrible my luck was.
This is a WR I do expect to fall really quickly but I don't care lol. It just feels amazing to finally complete the strategy.
Stats:
0:33 - 137
0:54 - 6
Again, horrible luck for just 1/256 odds, but alas, it's done and off my mind
With this cool modification, I can now say I own a really weird version of Nintendo World Championships 1990 since getting the real cartridge is asinine.

Still, it's a pretty easy one to do since there is just straight-up no randomness. Even if you are going for RTA records, tiger always gets up on a 1-count.
Proof from reset: youtu.be/NWsT2vTRhu4
I also made sure that the ending punch during Phase 2 was a right jab since Don falls down quicker compared to the left jab
With this video uploaded, I might upload the Tiger TAS in a day or two because it's been sitting on my computer since February 2023, lol.
I was actually cleaning out some videos of mine on my computer and noticed that I had a lot of PB videos saved that I never uploaded. This was because there is still room for improvement and not quite satisfied with the PBs I've achieved. One of the videos I still had was a Tiger 47.48 TAS but done on the NES and not switch. This gave me the idea to rematch Joe and Don again but with better quality and not just use a phone in front of my switch. The only thing with Joe is that I decided to use the star punch strategy and not get any fake get-ups on 5 and 9.
I wouldn't say I'm back at this game yet, I just thought I did this as a nice little bonus and if I didn't get it within the session that I did I wouldn't have cared too much. Glad I got it though and maybe perhaps I'll try that with Don as well but his get-ups are a little more annoying
Thank you thewolfmanhulk2927 for this idea when I posted what I should do in my community tab :)

Well as you saw in the video, it's not. So hopefully that means everyone in the comment section can shut up now about it :D
The day would come eventually and it was today! And the fact that this is my first perfect tyson is just fantastic. With the only con to this is that I have a really hard PB to beat lol.
With this 2:06 time, all of my IL times added up are now under Sub 14! Which is another goal that was satisfying to knock out! No pun intended haha.
Don't know what the next goal is for MTPO. But I'm just hoping that maybe this is a sign of good things to come.
EDIT: Ty zallard/summoningsalt for confirming decimal on this fight (2:06.97)
This one was actually frustrating because Bear only takes the uppercut in Phase 2 only 25% of the time. It took 7 frame perfect Phase 1's for 12.92 to happen, and since Phase 2 is fully buffered this could have ended way quicker but instead went on forever.
Hoy was hard but man did he look easy when doing this in comparison. The only good thing about the fight was that I didn't have to worry about guard manip failing.
Also, ignore my villainous act at the end lmao
Guitar Hero TAS Tie Counter: 7/16
This was probably the only IL that seemed "Guitar Hero friendly" after getting the easy 5 out of the way. I don't wanna do Bear strides, Heike's pause looks awful to time, and Muscle & Dragon have weird inputs for my liking and would be god awful with the guitar. Hoy only has guard manip and one other punch to time. High Supers in P2 aren't dangerous since you have the potential to buffer P3 if you get 7.49 or 7.50 on the clock.
I thought I was done after 5/16 but I'm glad I was able to at least get one of the above-average difficulty fights out of the way.
Guitar Hero TAS Tie Counter: 6/16
With Gabby, Piston, Bob, Aran, and Nick out of the way, there are no more easy ones left to tackle so I don't even know what will actually be next. Maybe Hoy perhaps? No idea, I'll decide whether or not I want to continue this. Getting 5/16 with the Guitar Hero felt like an achievement.
Guitar Hero TAS Tie Counter: 5/16
Took five perfect Phase 1's for Aran to let the 5/8 + 50/50 supers to go through. Despite me saying 3 in the video (idiot nolan)
Guitar Hero TAS Tie Counter: 4/16
Also yeah I was in a Voice call in Discord when this happened which is why you hear other people in the background haha.
Guitar Hero TAS Tie Counter: 3/16
Randomness was also very bad, couldn't even get a completed attempt most of the time (granted all of that failed on guitar hero guard manip but still) and it took 3 perfect P1s for Bob to finally take the 3/8 High super at the start of Phase 2.
Don't know what's next but I have a weird feeling that Nick will actually be easier than Piston which sounds silly to say but might end up being true idk.
Guitar Hero TAS Tie Counter: 2/16
You can tell by the video that I am not fully used to the controls as I would often look at the guitar buttons and not the game lol. Guard manipulation is also SUCKS really badly on this, at least with the buttons I have mapped out. But getting frame-perfect guard manip might be the hardest part of the whole thing.
Thankfully for this fight, you don't need to do frame perfect guard manip for Gabby Jay which made it a touch bit easier to get (Outside of pausing the game).
I'll be shocked if I can get more of these. I actually did do Bob as I am typing this description but nothing more than that. I'll see what the future holds haha.

The fight starts off with 2 right guts with the first one being guard manipped. It was worth noting that you have to intentionally delay a frame at the start for the star punch to go into Honda's first attack to deal full maximum damage. (If you got frame perfect guard manip then delay your star punch by 1 frame instead) Then you delay 2 frames and throw a face jab and then immediately throw a gut punch. Make sure you are holding up during the face jab so the gut can go through. Honda can randomly block the gut punch though, you need to make sure he doesn't hook (1/4) and that he actually takes the punch (another 1/4). Honda will then drop his guard and that's the exact moment you throw a star punch. After pressing the star punch, make sure to tap up on the D-pad so it will do full damage.
Honda gets up on a 1 count and you can send him down again with another star punch.
22.1 could be possible but I'm not sure of that atm. Somebody would have to TAS it.
Hope this guide was helpful to anyone who wants to try out this strategy.
Anyways, outside of that shock; Phase 2 has to be done really early and Phase 3 requires you manipping the fastest delay for the Bull Charge. I wanna say it's pretty easy, but there is a chance that I just lucked out with this haha.
Only a frame-perfect duck is required since Phase 1 is buffered.
But there are only 7 total...
Anyway here is Stage 1 and it's really eaz.
