Bristol Pubs Guide: Five Unique Pubs on King Street Nicola Explores 2026-08-09 | King Street is one the most vibrant streets in Bristol city centre, full of independent pubs, restaurants and the UK's longest continually running theatre, the Bristol Old Vic. In this pub guide, we visit some of Bristol's best pubs including The Old Duke, Llandoger Trow, The King William Ale House, The Royal Navy Volunteer, Renato's and The King Street Brewhouse. They all offer something unique and are nestled in fascinating Grade II listed buildings. For decades, this backstreet pub was alive with music, laughter, and some of England’s wildest rock and roll fans. In this social documentary, we reflect on the decline of British pubs by examining the stories from the locals who used to go The Springer during the 1970s and 1990s. People used to visit from all over the country to see British and American rock and roll bands, DJs and gather for the weekly hot rod nights. A Lost Summer in Brean 🇬🇧1960s Rare Cine Film of Somerset Nicola Explores 2026-02-28 | Brean might not be ss well known as Weston-super-Mare in Somerset but this 1960s cine film captures the nostalgia of this British seaside town in its heyday. It was filmed by my late grandpa on his Kodak Brownie cine camera in 1962. He captured a traditional family holiday by the sea. Weston-super-Mare in the 1960s 🇬🇧 Rare Cine Film Archive Nicola Explores 2026-02-21 | This rare home movie of Weston-super-Mare was filmed by my late grandpa during the 1960s on his Kodak Brownie cine camera.In this video, I’m sharing the moments he captured, recognisable British seaside traditions and parts of Weston that have quietly disappeared.You’ll see the long-lost colonnade near Marine Lake which was demolished after storm damage in 1981, the old Grand Pier, Punch and Judy on the seafront, donkey rides along the beach, the Thunderbirds 2 horse-drawn carriage, a large hovercraft no longer in operation, a forgotten model village and rare footage of Birnbeck Pier.The two little boys in the film are my dad and uncle, filmed during regular family trips from Bristol to Weston-super-Mare in the 60s.
