last video for today. showcasing a softlock glitch that happened to me. apparently this update has been out for like 2 or 3 years but i can't find any mention of this bug on YouTube. i doubt this hasn't been documented somewhere else though

more detailed explanation of what happened:
i had my switch in sleep mode while i was in my house, before my birthday. i turned it back on during my birthday, walked out of my house. my memory is horrible so i forgot if i was still holding my wand when I walk out of the house, but i probably was.
after isabelle's anouncement and all that, i was taken to keatons house for my birthday celebration. the cake part went normally, but then i got to the pinata part. this is my first time ever experiencing this new birthday system, btw.
keaton did the giving you a thing animation with the pinata smasher, so i naturally looked in my inventory, but couldn't find it. then i noticed something; the game thinks i'm still holding the wand, but my character isn't. it's not invisible or anything, there's no function when i press A. the pinata smasher isn't in my inventory either.
and since i can't leave the room, i can't destroy the pinata without the smasher, and i can't exit to the menu, i'm entirely softlocked. i can still manage my inventory, use the nookphone, etc, but i can't really do anything useful.
idk if this is a new discovery, or something already well known and documented.
