The great Jimi Hendrix! When I first heard his genius was on his album “ Live at the Fillmore East” with the “Band Of Gypsies” featuring Buddy Miles and Billy Cox. This blew my head off! Jimi was with a new rhythm section and the groove was incredible. His solo playing immediately sounded to me like he had a violin bow with distortion and sustain. This is where I started envisioning my viola training could be applied to playing rock with a bow, and getting the flavor of his magnificent playing and improvisation. Life changing!
