Publicis Groupe’s annual Holiday wishes began a long time ago as a dead straight (dead boring) monologue from the boss at the top, like the one you may have had to endure at your own agency.
But Chief Executive Officer of Publicis from 1987 to 2017 Maurice Levy got the hang of delivering rally-the-crowd recaps which mixed and emphasized the culture and attitude of the global communication holding company.
In 2016, the year in which Maurice Lévy “retirement” from Publicis and the May 2017 arrival of his successor Arthur Sadoun who were both in the news, engagingly – almost endearingly even – self-effacing.
This year’s annual Christmas wishes message comes from new(-ish) CEO, Arthur Sadoun, who begins by promising that there will be no business objective and the message will be short. A promise he keeps.
There are also no laugh out loud gags in this year message, but do pay attention to the "I’m The Boss" mug, which was featured in the Lévy's final annual video, the men’s hair colour and the obvious aging of new CEO Mr. Sadoun.
