Just after 8pm, St. Paul and Minneapolis citizens witnessed one very ominous looking shelf cloud march across the entire width of the city. Although this was a sign of the cold front's arrival to cool the dangerously hot temperatures (falling from the upper 90s to mid 70s nearly instantly), a new danger lurked... in the sky.
The Twin Cities Metro mainly received gusty winds and torrential rains for brief periods of time. Rural areas of Minnesota however fell victim to 3 tornado touchdowns and one touchdown was reported in Wisconsin.
