However, Pennhurst was actually called Pennhurst State School and Hospital. Pennhurst was never an Asylum. Pennhurst opened its doors in 1908 and was originally an institution for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities. However, it quickly became overcrowded as they welcomed in any “societal undesirables”. This included criminals, immigrants and orphaned children. In the 1960’s, a reporter named Bill Baldini released a five-part expose on Pennhurst after seeing the levels of abuse that went on within the institution’s walls. He titled this expose “Suffer the Little Children”. Residents were bound by their hands and feet, forced to live out their days in adult sized cribs and left to sit in their own human excrement for hours to days. Over 10,000 patients came through Pennhurst and half of them even died there. Are they still roaming the halls of this old institution? The Olde Angel Inn is located in Niagara on the Lake, Canada. It is not only Canada's oldest Inn but is also said to be haunted by a soldier who fell casualty to the war of 1812. Captain Colin Swayze, a British soldier, stayed behind when the other soldiers fled to meet for a rendezvous with his lover. She never came. Captain Swayze was forced to hide in a wine barrel when the American soldiers arrived at the Inn. They made their way to the wine cellar and stabbed each barrel with their bayonets, Swayze bled to death in the barrel from his wound. Swayze is now said to haunt the Inn because of his tragic death, catch the photo of him on the Olde Angel Inn website, where they caught him on their security footage. In the late 1800's the Beck family was the wealthiest family in Penetanguishene, ON. Charles Beck owned a lumber mill and quickly accumulated a 12 million dollar fortune. Charles and his wife, Amelia, had 9 children. Of this 12 million dollar fortune, Charles left his daughter, Mary, just a single dollar! All because he didn't approve of Mary's choice to build a life with George, the family manager. Is she still angry with her father in the afterlife? Charles mysteriously died in Lake Huron. His wife, Amelia, died of appendicitis. It is said she died in Apartment 302. Legend has it that Charles, Amelia and several of their children all haunt the 3rd floor of the old mansion. Rumour has it that there is also a number of unknown children that haunt the home. Watch out for the angry spirit that haunts basement, he's not a Beck, so who is he? ParanormalXP 2022-06-12 | Join ParanormalXP on one of the scariest nights of our lives as we investigate the infamous Lizzie Borden House in Fall River, Massachusetts. Andrew & Abby Borden were brutally murdered in their own home, the murder weapon suspected to be an old hatchet. There were approximately 40 hatchet wounds shared between the couple. This wasn't just a murder, it was a deadly massacre. The murderer was suspected to be none other than their own daughter, Lizzie Borden. She was suspected for a variety of reasons but was never charged. Is Lizzie Borden guilty of the axe murders that took place in her home in 1892? Or was she an innocent bystander who suffered a devastating loss? Some believe the murderer was Lizzie's own uncle, John Morse. There is plenty of circumstantial evidence that suggests John Morse had more than enough motive to commit the murders. Did John strike down his own family? Or was he just in the wrong place at the wrong time? Others believe that the family maid, Bridget "Maggie" Sullivan, may have known more than she lead investigators to believe. She testified in court during the trial claiming that Lizzie was innocent. After the trial she fled to Montana, Sullivan never returned to Fall River and never spoke of the trial again. OVERNIGHT | GHOST OF WAYSIDE INN (hidden treasure found!) ParanormalXP 2022-05-22 | ParanormalXP travels to Sudbury, Massachusetts to visit the HAUNTED Longfellow's Wayside Inn. The Wayside Inn is the oldest operating Inn in America and is said to be haunted by Jerusha Howe AKA "the Belle of Sudbury". Legend has it that Jerusha's fiancé ventured off over seas, never having been seen or heard from again. No one knows if he died at sea or if he just abandoned Jerusha and never returned to marry her. Jerusha is said to have never left the Inn and has spent what seems to be an eternity waiting for her lover to return. Guests report seeing her stare out the window, seemingly waiting for his arrival. She is also known the lay down next to male visitors and wake sleeping guests to ease her eternal loneliness. Room numbers 9 & 10 have many secrets.
