This is the official uncommentated encode for the new N64 Majora's Mask any% TAS, also branched and referred to as "game-end-glitch" for tasvideos. This encode was made using the lossless FFV1 codec (without sync to audio) with bizhawk's built-in version of ffmpeg using enhanced GLideN64 plugin settings from this page: tasvideos.org/EncodingGuide/VideoDumping#n64
in 2880x2160 resolution (not upscaled) while stopping on frame 85049.
This TAS has a submission on tasvideos. With a TASVideos account, you can vote whether liked watching it, didn't like watching it, or you can be indecisive and pick, "meh". Regardless of how you feel about it, a lot of effort was put into making the TAS as optimized as you see here, with no known way for us to lower the time any further below 22 minutes and 44.1 seconds within the N64's limitations. You can vote here! tasvideos.org/Forum/Topics/23547
If you only want the movie file, you can download the TAS's .bk2 file from my userfiles page here: tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/637986252138083767
However, it has been backed up in several other places as well in the event that the tasvideos server shuts down. An archive.org page including the TAS movie file, the used lua script, the used emulator (bizhawk 2.6.1), and the encode used for this upload, was created a little more than a couple of weeks ago, found here: archive.org/details/mm-n64-any-archive. You cannot download the required rom to playback this movie file from any provided link. You must legally dump the correct version of the rom.

Previously, I made an encode of this TAS with "sync to audio" enabled, but unfortunately this doesn't encode frames when the N64 is supposed to be booting, which is why this is a reupload.

This commentated version was made mostly by splicing sets of png sequences together and editing my commentary into the audio, and then rendering everything into a lossless 2880x2160 video with lagarith. There are two black frames around 2:42, and the video loops at 11:22. But these mistakes were found too late to get them fixed.

The old version of the N64 MM any% TAS is delisted: youtu.be/UD6HYOJuZL4
I've uploaded the song's files to archive.org on the following page: archive.org/details/badapple-oot - This page includes a .flac version, .wav version, .mp3 version, along with the original .mid file, the modified .mid file used for this cover, and the Ocarina of Time soundtrack to playback with the .mid file.
And of course, thanks so much to ZUN for composing the original Bad Apple!! What a catchy song it is, it's melody actually sounds better than Masayoshi's remix in my opinion. With modern sound effects, I'm sure the original Bad Apple song would sound much better than before.
And if there was ever any doubt, of course you can use this song for anything you'd like. I would especially love to hear this in an ocarina of time romhack one day, or perhaps as a trailer theme. However, please refrain from reposting this song on websites like nicovideo without giving proper credit to me and others for making this cover possible. Please link back to this video.

This actually isn't my first time trying this. I tested out this concept by replacing the instruments in the "U.N. Owen Was Her" song to see if I could get something that sounded decent out of swapping the instruments, and it turned out good. I spent more time and effort perfecting this song though, so I don't feel like that attempt is worth uploading to YouTube, unless anybody is just curious.
For those anticipating when the next Zelda video is coming, don't you worry! I have an updated version of the N64 Majora's Mask any% TAS along with personal commentary that should be coming out sometime next week hopefully, as long as I have enough time to edit the video.

The main update in this newer release compared to the one shown in the video is quest status and equipment tabs added to the debug save editor. This means you can hack an almost 100% file like I did within the port controls itself, making it much faster to configure a save file within the port.
I forgot to show this in the video: oot.otr from source code otrexporter is not compatible within the soh-deckard folder so you'll have to build the otr with otr.gui. So what I said about being able to re-use your otr files is only true within soh-deckard and shipwright-develop, they are NOT interchangeable like I thought they were in the video. You can configure your controller using the controller configuration folder and running windowsdesktop-runtime-6.0.4-win-x64 and then use SoH_Config to map your inputs to your controller. If you would like to change your keyboard controls use key_scan_codes.txt as a reference to edit the shipofharkinian.ini file (openable with notepad).

The required Ocarina of Time Debug rom seen in the ZELOOTD folder is not included in any of these downloads. I will not outsource the rom on Youtube, because it would be piracy. Have fun!
Note: Next WIP is not coming anytime soon! I can only work on things like this up to maybe 2 or 3 hours each normal day (but way more on breaks), and on top of that there is a part coming up which will require running some an RNG script (which still has to be made and don't know when that'll be ready) for a while to get rupees to spawn acoordingly (have to get the actual 1/8 chance per bluepee spawn and the right angle to hit link so there's multiple factors to get right here). Also sorry for not posting anything for almost half a year or something.
*Preventing the opponent from switching out when copying the move
*Forcing the opponent to use guillotine via PP stalling the foe
*Manipulating the RNG to avoid critical hits that threaten to OHKO you while pp stalling the opponent
*Manipulating the RNG to force exact switches and specific moves from the opponent
*Knowing your opponents EXACT move
*Knowing exactly how much pp the opponent has remaining
So, how did I do all of this? I came up with a strategy that involved forcing me and the opponent to stay in and switch out using the abilities shadow tag, emergency exit, and the moves recycle, mean look, and assist with fairy lock using the item red card. Shadow tag prevents the opponent from switching out (unless they are ghost type, all ghosts are immune, but the opponent has no ghost types on their team), emergency exit forces the user to switch out when they are at 50% hp or less, and red card forces the opponent to switch out if the user survives their attack. Recycle will restore the red card back to the holder and mean look will trap any incoming pokemon, and assist can call fairy lock and prevent switches on the next turn. Using savestates, I could see exactly what was going to happen on the next turn(s) so I could play the game flawlessly and give you an, "impossible" demonstration of one of the most broken exploits in pokemon. Hope you enjoyed watching!

Thanks for the free 16092 exp.
So basically, what I did was I built a baton pass team centered around stat-stacking on ultra necrozma, all the way up to +6 in all stats (accuracy, evasion, attack, special attack, defense, special defense, speed), and an interesting property related to these stat boosts is the move power trip.
"It normally has a base power of 20, but gains 20 power for every increased stat stage the user has." This causes Power Trip to reach a whopping base power of 860 with every stat in the game quadrupled, and if you add a choice band which multiplies that damage by 1.5 on top of the 2x super effective modifier due to ultra necrozma having a weakness to dark, on top of their -6 defense stat which I lowered by screeching at them (???), then you can KILL THEM IN ONE HIT! To do this, I shut necrozma down by increasing my defenses very quickly and then going to a wall to reach really high evasion, then I ev'd that wall to be slower than necrozma at +2 so that after I'm done setting up evasion and weakening their defense, I can go into smeargle without smeargle taking the blow. From here I can completely shut my opponent down by spamming spore and substitute, and setting up in their face. I get an easy baton pass into furret and I give my opponent a lagging tail. What this item does, is forces the holder to always move last. This will be important later, because when I baton pass into the level 5 sandile, the substitute will use the defenses of sandile to calculate whether the substitute will fade, therefore it will always fade (because necrozma has smart strike to bypass the evasion boosts), and sandile is still slower than the +1 necrozma even with all the boosts because its stats are so low. I could have kept the lagging tail so that I could move last and keep a substitute in on sandile, but I didn't want to risk necrozma breaking through furret with a crit while setting up with a broken substitute. From here, the full attack investment on sandile combined with the choice band and the very high level 5 stats (lol), it just barely one shots necrozma and alola is saved... by a level 5 sandile, I just love saying that. I hope you guys found this entertaining, I thought about this strategy a lot.
Here's the team if you want to try it for yourself!

Method 1: While wearing the mask leftmost of your mask inventory, equip swap the FD mask over that mask, then make sure that the FD mask icon is on the c-button of the mask you were just wearing, and unpause. Only requires one equip swap and is the easiest to do, however it only works with your leftmost mask.
Method 2: Equip swap any mask of your choice with the deku mask or leftmost mask slot. Unpause and equip the mask. Now equip swap the FD mask, and make sure the FD mask icon is on the c-button of the mask you were wearing. Unpause. I also equip FD mask normally to show off that I cloned the FD mask... TWICE!
Equip swap is a frame-perfect glitch in which you put your cursor on an item, go away from the current side of the pause screen, come back around and then hold up left (from right side) or up right (from left side) and press a c-button on the same frame to equip the last cursor'd item with the slot of the highest item from that side. You can also do it with a lower item holding the lower direction but you cannot have any item in the 2 slots above it. Hope this makes sense!

First, enter the room and kill the bats. It doesn't matter how you enter the room this time. After you kill the bats get close to the loading plane (it is around the dark spot on the wall) and target the wall, crouch stab, turn up right and drop 2 bombs, charge a spin attack while moving into the loading area and then after letting it go shield the damage and sidehop 4 times into the other area. Z-target the rupees to make sure they get loaded and then charge a quickspin through the other loading area. A good visual cue is to let go after you are about in the middle of the torch. Now, you should pull a bomb, get inverted camera by targeting for 5 frames and then holding down for two, then targeting again, and do a superslide with the pot. From here, go to the tree and target the side shown in the video, back away, ess right 6 frames, walk forward and re-target, ess right 3 frames and then shield drop the pot and get the bow. Void
Now this time and all the other times you setup the invisible item in the air you need to enter the room without z-targeting. Now line yourself up with the dark spot on the wall and do the exact same thing as before. Now target the wall shown in the video and do 163 frames of ess left and then shield drop it and get hookshot. Void
Same as before, target the part of the tree shown in the video, back up and do 89 frames of ess right. Shield drop and stand in front of chest to delete ocarina. Void
Same as before, however the wall we have to target is actually really small and really hard to target, it might take some practice to get it. It gives you angle 0x7682 when targeted. Do ess left for 22 frames and then get on flat ground and walk forward and re-target, then shield drop. Target the wall shown in the video, get in front of chest and do 4 frames of ess right, then walk into the chest, then walk away from the chest, then open it to get song of soaring. If you hit the hidden owl in west clock town, congrats you can index warp, and after doing these srm's you want to warp to great bay.to stock up on bombs and do more SRM. Hope this vid helps.
I pause at the end to show that I do indeed get fire arrows from the GIM. All the equip swaps (besides the last one) you see in the video is for the route. The graphics are really glitchy because I'm using the Rice GFX plugin on emulator to avoid the GIM crashing, however it is possible for the GIM not to crash if Dawn and Dusk is played on a Wii.
Dawn and Dusk Release Trailer: youtube.com/watch?v=pd83Jzv4ixA
1. Bottle #3, with bugs
2. 20 Deku Sticks and 29 chu's
(Bottled Fairy is also caught)
Here's my route:
0. Make sure you have equip swapped stick and equipped bottle to c-right.
1. Get poe.
2. Get into a quickdraw position using a HESS and letting the rock push you.
3. Shield drop chu and equip swap the poe over the stick slot.
4. Drink the poe to get down to 1 heart of health.
5. Perform quickdraw bottle on B with bugs.
6. Catch a fairy from the exploded bushes in the normal bottle.
7. RBA the fairy and the poe for more sticks and chu's.
This extremely fast method of setting up RBA is currently TAS-only because the position for the quickdraw is very precise, and you must have perfect RNG in order for the poe to take away a heart and also have a fairy spawn from the bushes. However, most of it is theoretically possible (besides the A-slides) but you would need to be insanely lucky, and that means this route should not be used in RTA runs.
Very fast. Performed by rolling into an explosion at just the right time while holding ess position on the analog stick and then pressing Z and R at just the right time. The gameplay is tool-assisted.

I barely know anything about SM64 modding, so anybody could do this.
My Mod has 7 stars you can collect, with one being a 100 coin star, all in Bob-omb battlefield. It lags A LOT, so I rechommend you uncap the FPS in the emulator and then use a program like Dxtory to get the game to run at normal speed unless your PC is already really bad and cant run the game at at least 100% speed with no cap.
Download the rom here (remember to use 8MB RAM):

Before you read any further, keep in mind this was used with the, "Mudlord's Rice Video Build 6.1.4." on Project64 1.7 with only 5 hearts. This matters because this does not work on the nintendo 64 or on an emulator without a graphic plugin specifically designed for GIM due to the graphics being unable to process the item. However, if you clone a lot of hearts, and your screen freezes, you can get light arrows early but you wont be able to actually see the game because there will be so many hearts that the screen just stays on one frame and doesnt change. This, "screen freeze," allows light arrows early possible on all platforms with the use of heart duping. View more information about this on Keetas video here: youtube.com/watch?v=oxoMl7iwRzQ
This lets you skip the first half of stone tower temple and get the mirror shield and elegy of emptiness earlier than intended. If someone watching this doesn't know anything about glitches in Majoras Mask, you probably have no idea what is going on. GIM is Get Item Manipulation and it lets you change what item your supposed to get (for me it was deku nuts, and I changed them to light arrows). You can change the item depending on the chest that you stand in front of while Get Item Delay is Active.

Most people dont know how to do this so I thought I would make a quick video showing how. Also for those who dont know, this rom requires double the RAM of a normal n64 game. I don't want to tell that to you, I want to tell that to the emulator you might use to run the debug rom! It uses 8MB of RAM so put that in your emulator settings. EDIT: Download link to original rom (above is modified, thanks for letting me know "Dragonhorn"). This one can be used for modding rom hacks (but not for patches). It is also the unedited version I think: drive.google.com/u/0/uc?id=1utnAJpDYJVi63Z_SJKjQoBPBwYGywOE1&export=download

P.S. This video is super outdated. There's a new glitch with extended hookshot that lets you skip BK's, and more recently, srm actually exists in mm, and so does moonwarp now. I'm sure other discoveries have been made too.
Also, this video is very old and thus the quality sucks, so sorry about that. I'm now very good at ripping models and I could do a lot better job if I wanted to do this again, but now I have more important things to do.)
I thought it would be cool if Ocarina of Time maps were in sm64. After learning the basics of the SM64 Editor and TT64, I tried importing one of the maps and... It worked!
Anyways, at this point I could probably make an "Ocarina 64" demo, but just a demo. If I were to make a full game out of this I would need a lot of people to import the models, because I can't take models directly from the game. I import models from other games at 3d warehouse. I got the death mountain model here: 3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/u98975b18-6f94-4ab8-81e1-e2297c440ee5/Death-Mountain-Trail-Ocarina-of-Time-3D
Now, I'm not exactly excited when the thought comes to importing as many oot3d maps as I can into SM64 because I wouldn't have all the characters, enemies, and items that were in oot. BUT! I could do this if I could team with Kaze, but that likely will not happen even if he's reading this right now. I'm just too much of a noob :P.
The Inside the Tower Collapse scene does not have the 0x18 header command, so it instead attempts to play whatever is being pointed to by the cutscene pointer. Depending on what’s there, you can end up not playing any cutscene, get stuck in an “infinitely long” cutscene, play the previous cutscene, or crash the game.

My favorite of the 3Q soundtrack, it has a catchy tune to it.

COMMENTS:
It's very fitting for a bright area like the dread gulch and the grim cove. I also appreciate the change I have noticed with the retexturing, as I thought in patch 0.5 dread gulch and grim cove were very dark and much harder to see at night.

COMMENTS:
Seems like something that could fit in majoras mask, but that's ok, as tracks like this that have a dark feel to it that gives it meaning.
This is more of a test level, but you can play it if you want! Just load the rom with 8mb of ram on pj64, then load the savestate provided.

Reverse Bottle Adventure (RBA) is a glitch where by placing a bottle item on B allows us to write the internal item value of a set of bottles outside the space reserved for the inventory.
To start RBA, I change my sword into a bottle item using a glitch known as "Quick Draw". To perform this glitch, I must first have a bottled item in my hand. I then need to dump it, and then backflip into water and on a specific frame pressing the B button. I know I did it correctly because when I got pushed out of water, the bottle was still in my hand. I then went to the fish I dumped, held Z, shield and the bottle button at the same time, then I released the shield button to catch the fish, with the result ending up on my B button. From there, whenever I dumped or caught whatever was on my B button, I would get a certain set of items depending on whatever was on C-right. That's why I was switching the trade items to C-right.
Items received:
Light Arrows
Spirit, Shadow, Water, and Forest medallions
Nocturne of Shadow, Prelude of Light, Song of Time, and Zeldas lullaby
All three spiritual stones
Glitched Quiver
Japanese Item
Bombs
SC Gauntlets (Strongest upgrade)
Adults Wallet

Index Warp
DISCOVERED BY INDEXTIC
Index warp is a trick which allows the player to warp to any regular owl statue in the game without having to activate the statue. The main requirement for performing the glitch is that the player has hit and activated the Hidden Owl Statue.
Other Owl Statues
It is also important that no other Owl Statues are activated. Having any Owl Statues activated other than the Hidden Owl will stop this glitch from working.
Performing the Glitch
After these two conditions are met, the glitch can be performed. Press START to bring up the pause screen and go to the map sub-screen. Once on the map, place the selecting cursor on the map area corresponding to the owl statue you wish to warp to from the table below:
Cursor Value World Map Location Owl Statue/Effect
0 Great Bay Great Bay Coast
1 Zora Hall Zora Cape
2 Romani Ranch Snowhead
3 Deku Palace Mountain Village
4 Woodfall Clock Town
5 Clock Town Milk Road
6 Snowhead Woodfall
7 Ikana Graveyard Southern Swamp
8 Ikana Canyon Ikana Canyon
9 Goron Village Stone Tower
10 Stone Tower Dungeon Entrance (Softlock)
Note that these map positions will need to be unlocked by going to that area on the map. So for example: in order to unlock the Romani Ranch spot on the map so that the player may Index Warp to Snowhead, the player needs to have visited Milk Road or Romani Ranch at least once in their playthrough. This will make it selectable on the map.
At this point, unpause and play the Song of Soaring. The Song of Soaring cursor will automatically be selecting the Owl Statue on the map from the table above. Pressing A and soaring to this point will allow you to soar to the statue normally, as if you had hit the owl.
Due to the Great Bay Owl Statue having the Cursor Value 0, it is the default position for Song of Soaring and therefore Song of Soaring will automatically take you to this Owl without having to select the world map.
It is worth noting, while the Song of Soaring menu is up, pressing any direction on the control stick will crash the game.
When you attempt to pick up an object that you cannot pick up, the game sends you back to the location of the object you attempted to pick up, but it keeps your height. So, when I do the bombhu superslide, I'm grabbing the bush, AND moving up, then when I release a, it takes me back to the bush with a higher position. I can then move around the perimeter of the graveyard and jump over the loading zone for the torch's near the shadow temple, and then I just walk in!
