October 20th, 2014, the Pirates Online Rewritten (POR) official website returns with it's previous design. Their has been no official announcement at this time (8pm), but this does seem to be only a temporary thing as it has been restored using a WayBack Machine archive and a new design was promised. We'll have to wait and see, until then you can visit the site yourself at pirates-online-rewritten.com

Ahoy! At about 6 to 7 PM Eastern Time the main website was officially published. The current published version is merely a placeholder for the new layout that is coming. We have received TONS of feedback on what the website should look like and we have a lot of concept art made up for it! Keep a weather eye on the horizon for the new layout and enjoy the current one until then! Keep in mind that information on the website is outdated and will be updated soon. :)

About the project:
Pirates Online Rewritten is a ongoing non-profit project to recreate Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean Online (POTCO) as it was before the game’s closing on September 19th, 2013. The game will be a community ran server, ran and made by former POTCO players.
Pirates Online Rewritten is not associated in any official way with the Walt Disney Company, its subsidiary the Walt Disney Interactive Media Group, or any additional subsidiaries or affiliates.
The characters as well as "Pirates of the Caribbean" are TM and © (copyright) Walt Disney Company, Jerry Bruckheimer Films, and their related entities.
