Every veteran cop knows that our choices were limited back in the day. It was either "hands on" or "deadly force". Many times when you went "hands on" the cop was either injured or killed. Technology and policies have changed, but not for the better of both both cops and the innocent.
Technology does not always work out in the favor of either half of the criminal spectrum. Maybe the old phrase of "don't fix what's not broken" actually works.
