In this 3-part series, we examine the fascinating history and engineering of Polaroid instant cameras. In part 1 we will cover the earliest days of the Polaroid Corporation, from its founding in the early 1930s to the development of its first instant camera in the late 1940s to the launch of its most successful single product in the mid-1960s - what could be called the "roll film" era.
