Leveling up Pokémon to L100 to battle at the highest caliber takes a lot of time... or does it!? You can make all your Pokémon destroyers! Think your Pokémon's stats are all maxed out with HP, Attack, Defense, Speed and Special? There's a very good chance all of your Pokémon have room for improvement even after level 100 ;) ... It's such an easy trick/glitch to exploit but read below for extra details. I even remember doing this accidentally as a kid and wondering why my Mewtwo suddenly had loads of extra HP and everything else and it was because Mewtwo was helping some of my really low level Pokemon to level up by sharing Experience Points. Little did I know I was missing out on some stat Exp. which is different.
There's a very complicated way that stat Exp. is calculated and there's a site somewhere that explains it, but to cut it short, even when your maxed-out-on-vitamins and HP-Up legendary Pokemon, or any Pokemon is L100 and you see their stats you think that's it, BUT - there's a sure fire way to increase their HP and stats by employing 'The Box Trick'!
The Box Trick works by going out and getting your L100 sweeper to go and fight 50, 75 or even 100 battles, maybe even more, I've heard you can keep doing it until the numbers stop increasing which is determined by your Pokemon's genes (yet again there are good sites out there that explain it in detail) in other words there's a realistic ceiling on those numbers - NO Pokemon will have 500 in any stat for example except HP where Chansey has a phenominal amount (~650) but the Attack, Defense, Speed and Special stats on average are around 225 for a L100 Pokemon and over 300 in any stat is considered very good! I've only ever seen 2 Pokemon with stats over 400 and that is Cloyster's Defense and my Mewtwo's Special ;)
Once these battles have been fought, you think it's enough or simply got bored of repetitiveness then FLY to a Pokemon centre and heal the Pokemon, deposit it in a Box on the computer, leave the area and come back and withdraw it again and you'll instantly see the HP gain and you can compare the stats of your Pokemon before and after! :)
In this video I did 4 cycles of the Elite 4 and Rival - that first got my Articuno to L100 and the next 3 were just gaining the stat Exp. which would improve my Articuno.
The 'starting' L100 stats for my Articuno were :
HP 366, Attack 257, Defense 272, Speed 263, Special 336 - Pretty good I think! Above par anyway :)
But - after 83 separate battles being L100 my Articuno has these stats :
HP 369 (+3), Attack 260 (+3), Defense 275 (+3), Speed 267 (+4), Special 340 (+4)
What this means is that the Elite 4 give a very well rounded boost to every single stat and more important my Articuno is nowhere near maxed out on his stat Exp. so I could repeat this and get further gains if I wanted/needed.
Utilizing all 3 modes of the Dodrio GB Tower so I could zip through it all at light speed and do what would take hours in about half an hour and that includes the time when I used the slower Doduo mode and "normal" mode to hear the Rival's battle theme which is REALLY catchy!
People can read up on how this works, but there's nothing like a video showing an uncut playthrough to clearly show how it works and the actions taken and also the nostalgia of the Rival theme!! It's a long description for the video but I didn't do commentary for it as it was recorded at 5am and I'd much rather just see something be done with my own eyes than listen to someone try and explain it. For all you Pokemon fans out there that want to turn your favourite cute Pokemon that might be just average in battle into destructive sweepers or turn your destructive sweeper into an invincible slayer for any purpose, particularly completing Pokemon Stadium, or you're someone who wants to experiment with a glitch you've never tried then you should really give this a go if you have the hardware (Pokemon GB cart, Transfer Pak (for that lightning speed in the Dodrio GB Tower) and N64) you can now create a winning team out of YOUR favourite Pokemon not just the most powerful by genetic nature! Have fun turning your Pokemon into powerhouses :)
