This video shows planaria in a small petri dish. Planaria are flatworms of the Turbellaria class. Their diet may consist of small invertebrates and decaying organic material found in the ponds and streams they live in.
Planaria move by using cilia on their ventral side (belly) sliding on a film of mucus. They can also move by undulating their bodies. Notice the two eye-spots (ocelli) of the planaria seen in this video. The eye-spots allow the planaria to sense light which allows them to move away from light sources.
