A new environment and a fresh start did actually helped him to overcome his fears and, slowly, open up again (plus his aunt, as a former psychologist, did helped him get through his trauma).He was attending his last year at Cliffside Academy when Layla Nightingale was killed. A tragic event that shook the whole city, but not as big as when they realized that the town was trapped by a magic barrier, without a way in or out.
