A familiar face made a very brief return to Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean.
Last weekend, a portrait of the attraction’s original redhead, created by Disney Legend Marc Davis, suddenly appeared in the attraction’s “treasure room.” But the surprise didn’t last long. By Friday, the portrait was gone again.
The original redhead was famously part of Pirates of the Caribbean’s auction scene until 2018, when Disney reimagined the sequence and reinvented the character as Redd, the pirate.
So was the portrait a temporary tribute, an accidental appearance, or something else entirely?
