After everything that happened, I don't identify with the name "slYnki" anymore, and I certainly don't feel very comfortable uploading here anymore. My new personal channel is Spasmodic Gaming, where I will be uploading speedruns, jumping videos, Counter-Strike content, Doom stuff, Half-Life, commentaries, and pretty much whatever I want. If you enjoy the footage on this channel, do subscribe to Spasmodic!
I have also started a new channel with my friend ACXY called Bait and Switch Studios. If you enjoy funny content, or at the very least, two people being stupid in an effort to be funny, while playing games, then BS Studios may tickle your fancy. The idea there is to become famous and make at least $8.00 in YouTube money. You having a good time is a secondary objective. Muhaha.
It's been a fun ride here at Snipe, but as I've moved on, it's time for this channel to go into cryo. I've had a lot of fun and met a lot of great people through this channel. I hope I can see you all over at Spasmodic and BSS! If not, all the best!
Much love

I never got around to putting the finishing touches on this video, nor did I ever get around to practicing any routes, given everything that happened. I felt compelled to upload this regardless.
distinct cut off point for me. I didn't identify with slYnki anymore and I wasn't intent on salvaging anything on this channel. I wanted a clean break and a fresh start, so I started Spasmodic Gaming and things have been great since!

I definitely don't have my thoughts in order here, I probably could have phrased things better or more completely, but in the end, now you know that my runs were cheated. It's out there now. Not sure what else I can add at this point. I guess we'll see what happens.

Found a neat song, had a couple ideas, decided to empty my brain. Y'know, the usual. Enjoy!
Song:
Aether - Beso
These clips are from roughly an hour of Deathmatch.
Some of this footage was shown in videos like "The Three Towers: Revisited", "slynk's Project One Clips" and my long lost video, "To The Start of Two Betrayals", but a lot of it has never been seen before. Some of the tricks are new as well. Kind of crazy to consider how long I've held on to these tapes. While this isn't everything I've ever done, it's a good portion of it. I'm delighted to finally bring this footage to you.
As this was captured off of VHS tapes, the quality is abysmal. Sony Vegas also disagreed with a couple of the clips, so the video blacks out for a few seconds at two points. Also, the footage is silent, because the audio wasn't synced to the video nicely, and I wasn't willing to sync up over 100 clips.
Originally I wanted this video to be a bit of a grand production, but I much preferred presenting the footage like this. Barely edited at all. A lot of the videos back then kind of looked like this, they were very footage driven, and I wanted to pay homage to that. I hope you enjoy this little piece of my past.

Halo 3 jumps?! Whaaaat? Yes, I've landed some jumps in a game that isn't Halo 1. I landed these jumps some time ago, and after completing "Singular", I decided to focus on getting these out there. I'm not good at Halo 3 jumping at all, so I took the creative route and landed some unique, fun jumps. Nothing too maddening.
Something you will probably notice immediately is the editing. Specifically, the transitions. I've been watching Counter-Strike: Global Offensive frag movies lately, and most of the editors I've watched seem to fancy these types of transitions. One video in particular inspired me so much, to the point where I abandoned my original concept for this video, and mimicked his genius as best I could. I'm referring to the video titled, "Fade" by: Spinns
I personally enjoy the transitions a lot, but I suspect it's one of those things you will either love or hate. I don't believe I'll be making a habit of using these transitions, but it's nice to know how to do them. Another thing I did was play around with the contrast and color correction, which is somewhat new territory for me. I greatly enjoy editing and design work, and I'm eager to improve, so this video is very experimental. I worked very hard on it, and I hope you all enjoy it!

Little did they know that Stockwell had rigged the maps hilariously. We had hidden custom powerups on all of the maps that essentially turned us into Optimus Prime. The opposing team had no idea until it was too late. We were especially evil, as we'd play the first few minutes legit, then go to our secret caches and ruin peoples lives.
These maps have long since sat on my old Xbox 360, and today I felt like doing a tour of the maps. I would say that everyone we pranked took it well, but I'd be lying to you. Therefore it's a little odd for me to say that these maps are a cherished memory of mine, but whatever. This was the greatest prank Halo has ever seen. If only I had saved some of the footage. Regrets =(
You'll just have to imagine the surprised looks on peoples faces as an invulnerable Hornet appeared on Construct mysteriously, and you'll have to imagine how funny it was to travel at warp speed with a flamethrower and completely roast an entire team to death.
Enjoy!
This is a very odd feeling. When Half-Life 2 Done Quick was released, I became inspired to run HL2 single segment. I ran into A LOT of technical difficulties during that time, and my computer wasn't good enough to run FRAPs. Not that it would have mattered, considering my game crashed randomly. Eventually my computer died, and by the time I got back to Half-Life 2, the engine changed. I wasn't used to ABH, so I gave up on the run.
I tried installing the old engine about three times. Executable tried to help, and quadrazid tried to help, but nothing worked. Eventually I tried one last time, and with the help of LotsofS, I actually managed to get the old engine to work. I immediately worked on remembering my old route through the game. It's severely out dated, but it's what I was comfortable with back then, and it's what I'm comfortable with now.
I started this project about 6 years ago, so to see at least one run completed, it's very special to me. I will absolutely work on improving this time, as this run was mistaken ridden, and lacks almost all of the major shortcuts. But in the meantime, I am very pleased with this. Now to tackle Half-Life 1.
Enjoy!

It's called Unfiltered because you get to see the clips as they are, with no third person angles. You get to see the chokes, the lead-up, the follow-up, near misses, would-be kills, all of it. I'll be doing one of these for "A Day of Halo 4" as well. Lemme know what you think! Enjoy.
Oh, also, if you haven't seen the original video, I got all of these clips from a single day of playing. It's all me, though some friends of mine were present. acxy, Little Mann, Raigns and NOKYARD are in here :)
I've been bored being sick, so I did this. I didn't have a route in mind, I just kind of made this up as I went along. Took me about an hour. I think there's 20 segments? At some point the screen turns black and it might blink a couple times afterwards. My capture card is awful, and rendering this was a pain.
So, obviously this continues my No Damage series. I don't take any shield damage whatsoever, thus, I don't take any health damage either. Library is a little annoying because of all the popcorn flood everywhere, which nullify checkpoints, and enemies spawn repeatedly unless you advance, so this play through is a mix of aggression and patience. I could bring it under 30 minutes if I wanted to, I took the index chamber very slowly, as well as a few other sections. But I finished it and that's good enough for me. Enjoy.
Song used: Oddisee - Detroit (Thanks, blasdfa!)
Regarding the editing, I experimented a little. Largely with contrast, and I played around with the text a little bit. I'm happy with how it turned out. Let me know what you think!

3 Controllers

This is a little trick I did a short while ago, and I thought it was interesting enough to show. People have gotten tanks on top of Sidewinder before, but I don't believe anyone has done it while controlling three controllers simultaneously. Aside from Ms. Man and his 10 controllers :D A small twist on a classic! Enjoy.
Songs Used:
Gramatik - Straight off The Block
Gramatik - Funk It Down (Original Mix)
Gramatik - Shaft Funk
Regarding the editing. I played around with text a little more in this video, as well as the contrast settings for the first time. Transitions are still my weak point, but I think it turned out pretty good! Let me know what you think of the editing and filming and such. I'm pretty proud of it, but I'm always looking to improve :)

The tricks:
- Hehe, I found this while recording yesterday. This launch can be far more dramatic than this, and if you don't bounce off the poll (no way to say that in a clean way), I'm sure it saves time. This is on Prepare To Drop, obviously.
- Jumping down those hallways is annoying because of the weird ceiling, but you can gain a couple seconds if you do it right. Also on Prepare To Drop.
- New slide at the beginning of Tayari. There's a few different slide jumps in that area, I thought I'd contribute this one.
- Nifty little launch on Tayari. Who doesn't love a big box? :D
- Slight optimization at the end of Tayari, including the grenade. Instead of doing a straight slide jump off of the ledge, I sort of bounce off of it then jump off the ground to reach the lifepod faster.
- Chappified! Showing off an alternate driving route up to the end of Uplift Reserve.
- Getting out of your ghost ends the level faster on Uplift. Found this by accident :D
- Killing the brute instead of jacking the ghost is like a second faster on Kizingo. Ignore the wraith pinning me to the wall :D
- Little tire launch followed by letting Mickey do all the work at the start of ONI: Alpha Site. Found by Chappified.
- Chappified! Nice little route on NMPD HQ to get to the bridge a touch faster.
- ZealotSG! This is his pylon launch down the bridge on NMPD HQ. The effect is far more dramatic if you launch properly (I didn't, because I'm terrible).
- Chappified! Showing off a nice start to Kikowani Station.
- Kikowani Station. If you push Romeo away from the phantom with a banshee, after a few seconds he'll just rise up into thin air for some reason. If you push him in the direction I did, he'll hop into the phantom. Weeeeeird.
- I guess killing those squid houses on Kikowani skips some dialog and saves some time!
- ZealotSG! Awesome banshee launch to reach the door faster on Kikowani. That launch is harder than it looks. I totally failed at opening the door. My hands were frozen solid. -40C here! What the hell?!
- Data Hive pylon launch #1.
- Data Hive pylon launch #2. Before the launch, nifty little slide jump as well! I showed off these launches in my NG+ run.
- I've always wanted to investigate if the lower area on Data Hive could be faster than the route above. I want to say that it COULD be faster, I haven't tested them side by side yet, but it felt faster.
- Chappified! Nice slide jump to reach the Hammer Brute faster on Data Hive, and an excellent fight too.
- Box launching on Coastal Highway =) Only possible in single segment runs, probably not entirely ideal XD
- MousseMoose's new jump on Sierra. It's pretty hard since you're blind once you get up top, but it's fast as hell.
- Little faster way of getting to Johnson
- I'm terrible at cone launching, but it's possible! =D
- For a while me and a couple others have been nading that grate against the wall, and then launching off of it. I suggested that putting it against the wall wasn't necessary at all.
- This is cool as hell. If you do it right, the warthog gives you a nice push across the room.
- Tiny box launch on Floodgate to save a second.
- Cliff riding on The Ark. Turns out this was actually super useful! It skips an enemy trigger, which helped Auraxade rush through this area with nothing but a ghost on Legendary. No need for the tank anymore =)
- Since the ghost rush was figured out, jacking the AA wraith wasn't necessary at all.
- DC launch across the same area. The idea was to jack a ghost coming out of the tunnel, but we found a much better spot for a DC launch, and it's earlier in the mission.
- Cute little driving route with the ghost, possibly useful for skipping the ghosts and the wraith on legendary.
- Box launch in the first tower on The Covenant. Angle it right, it takes you clean out the door.
- Box launch at the final tower.
- Scarab To Scarab has actually been completed by ZealotSG! My original idea was to kill the scarab, and jump off. As it's flying back into the map, it bumps into you, launching you towards the other scarab. I had no idea that it launches you off to the right, sadly. But! My good friend Zealot figured out how to do it, and it may be the greatest thing I've ever seen.
- Since Scarab To Scarab has been completed, this idea with the hornet is totally useless now, since we make it to the other scarab before the hornet even hits the ground.
- Random weird thing that happened to me while running Cortana. One of those transform-y flood things jumped off of the roof and landed on me, giving me a pretty substantial boost. If I hadn't of hit my head on the ceiling, it could have carried me to the door easily.
A bunch of stuff I've found recently to give Halo 1 runs, particularly single segment runs that extra little boost. It's largely just little optimizations here and there, slight route changes. These tricks have been under wraps for a few months now, and I've decided to share them! Combining all of these tricks saves you about 30 seconds overall. Neat stuff =)
- The jump on Pillar of Autumn saves 1 second compared to the jump off of the stairs. It's tricky, you have to land at the top of the beam, or you slide off, and you have to jump to the left in such a way where you don't hit your head on the beam above. I believe I've shown this jump before, but I wanted it in here for convenience of reference.
- Slightly better grenade jump. Throwing the grenade into the wall so it bounces into you and stops. I jump up and to the right rather than just straight up. The slanted cliff edge carries you up top easier. Saves about a second.
- Killing all of the marines fast enough results in the first dropship landing faster. Specifically, you want to skip the, "I got a covenant dropship coming in, over here!" line. The dropship will start to descend immediately upon reaching its waypoint. This is about 3-4 seconds faster.
- Driving straight at the marines means there's a higher chance of them being grouped together, so you can nade them to death faster. Then I included killing the sniper on the way back to my warthog, instead of getting out of the warthog upon entering the area and killing him from a distance. If done perfectly, this approach is faster. Plus you accomplish the dialog skip later on without having to pause at the top of the hill. Not sure how much time this saves, but it's a good 5-10 seconds potentially.
- Don't ask me how I found this. When you fire a round from your AR, the next wave of enemies on the gravity lift spawns instantly. Line up your grenade perfectly, and you'll save at least 4 seconds. I showed this off briefly in my "dis gun b gud" video.
- New approach to the Map Room on Silent Cartographer. I include a very simple slide jump right at the start, and then a light grenade jump up to the camo. You can grab the camo through the wall jumping up the way I did. With some overshield left over, you can do the huge grenade jump seen in Halo 1 Done Segmented without dying. This should save you about 2-3 seconds overall.
- Instead of jumping on to the ledge and inching your way off, just jump straight off the bridge. Try not to hit your head on the bridge on your way down. This saves about a second. I failed this in my 1:18:xx (IL timing) run :D
- 2-3 seconds faster than the grenade jump up the slanted wall, but riskier. I believe I've shown this off as well, but Phoque wasn't sure about the location of this jump, so I included it.
- Really hard grenade jump, but it saves 1-2 seconds. I THINK I showed this in H1 Done The Cool Way.
- Double rocketing the ghost through the door usually results in it being flipped over. The grenade was designed to flip it over so you wouldn't have to. Flipping the ghost yourself could cost you a second in a worst case scenario, so this could maybe save a second.
- At long last, a consistent way of including The Maw cafeteria bump in single segment runs. When you are running down that hallway just before the cafeteria, you want to strafe to the left of that burning wall, so you load the cafeteria doors breaking animation properly. Bounce a frag grenade off of the wall so it kills the popcorn flood behind you, then get into the corner and crouch. You jump to the first light in the cafeteria, look into the deloaded portion of the map, and you should get a checkpoint every time on Easy. This doesn't work on Legendary. When you get a checkpoint in the ceiling, just drop down below to load the textures, then revert to save. Then jump along solid textures to skip the bridge. This saves about 15-20 seconds if done perfectly. Yay =)
NOTE: acxy is very, very quiet. I recorded an hour of footage, and I only discovered his low volume afterwards. We're not sure what's up with that, but it'll be better after the first 4 episodes =D
Also, I recorded this using XSplit, so the quality may be lackluster compared to FRAPs. FRAPs has this tendency to eat my computer alive, despite my computer being capable of time travel, so I stuck with the simple recording method. I apologize to your eyeballs.

Pillar of Autumn, Halo and most of Truth and Reconciliation went missing, and I don't know why. I apologize =(
Best part of the run was clearly the death on The Maw, caused entirely by girlfriend/chat =D
