Main timelosses are from missing target acquired and 2 unintentional deaths (one in Lost 1, one in Luncheon 2).
The framerate in this video is incredibly variable. I did not expect portions of the run to be unviewable while recording, but it seems that streaming both to Twitch and separately to Discord (to minimize latency for the commentators) as well as being in the voice call was too much for my PC to handle at times. I'm unsure why this happened, but I can definitely get it sorted as it appears to be correlated to times where I was warned by streamlabs that my bandwidth was very low.
Primary things to note are that this run features two very intense early game tricks that are easy to reset to in attempts, but obviously I cannot do this in a marathon. The first is DSS (cascade 1, done second attempt in this run). If I fail this twice, I will deviate to the normal route and eat the timeloss; will be fine for a 3:14:00 estimate. The second is IP Skip (sand 1, done first attempt in this run) which skips going inside the inverted pyramid. If I fall off the inverted pyramid, I will do a backup route with IP Clip which loses ~40-50s. This is obviously not ideal, but it is necessary to keep the run marathon-safe. Again, this will keep the run under a 3:14:00 estimate. There is also a very punishing trick in the last kingdom of the run. I will go for this if the run should be under estimate, but once it approaches being too risky to attempt for fear of going over 3:14:00, I will stop. This removes most fear of losing significant time at the end. All other tricks are reliable enough to be done over the course of the run consistently.
Thank you, and I hope you enjoy.
Moon: 10s of pretty obvious timeloss
Ruined: Could've done some faster riskier strats but good
Lost: Obvious mistakes and no dv meme tree
Cloud: pretty obvious mistakes and took extra damage before the sixth face so had to wait
Sand: Good except for stupid missed spinpound at the end
Wooded: I'm a moron for those 4s lmao
Seaside: didn't get the fastest cycle bc I missed the fast roll off the top, other than that it was good
Bowser's: solid overall except for damage to koopa
Cascade: damage to goomba and slow rocky rumble, can gold further
Snow: 4th try wasn't idea and neither was the missed rc but fine, ig
Mushroom: Mushroom sucks, almost choked and didn't get to do the camera manip I go for bc I was nervous
Luncheon: No idea why I went for the fast strat but glad I got it
Lake: Slow CP menuing
Metro: like 4 bonks lmfao
Cappy is sotpid.
This teick is sotpid.
This is a meme practice category.
Note: to fade is "to lose freshness or brilliance of color" (Merriam-Webster) which is, indeed, exactly what the screen does. According to the rules, this is then a loading zone because it fades to black. I captured the screen, spun cappy on the moon and pole, collected the moon, and finished with the "loading zone" so clearly this run is valid and should be accepted. If it's not accepted I will riot and be very angry.
For all those interested, a tasks series for Super Mario Odyssey similar to the series hosted by SmallAnt1 is currently being hosted in the SMO Community Tasks Discord. If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please check out the information sheet: tinyurl.com/s8g2lle.

Full moon fadeout to first frame in control of Mario = 13.93
My awful splice time = 19.46
Segment time = 33.50
Original segment time = 39.58
Possible time save = 6.08 possibly
Also known as Actually Insane Dino Skip...
PS: Spinthrow RCJs are so so so much easier with a pro controller. It's honestly a joy to do them lol.
