PETER SALLIS – English actor and entertainer, well known for his work on British television, notably in the popular animation series WALLACE AND GROMIT and the situation comedy LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE.
Peter Sallis was actually born and brought up in London, even though his two most notable roles have required him to adopt the accents and mannerisms of a Northerner. He played Norman "Cleggy" Clegg in LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE from its 1973 inception until its final episode in 2010 - the only actor to appear in all 295 episodes. Internationally, he is known for voicing Wallace in the WALLACE AND GROMIT series of films. Other television credit include THE GHOSTS OF MOTLEY HALL, THE PALLISERS and THE PERSUADERS
