Al Ewing's time on Venom reached its climax with the 'Venom War' event that, while really disappointing given that most of the setup was thrown out in favor of a cheap wrestling gimmick at the last minute, still had some pretty alright moments.
Peter finally squashing his one-sided beef with the symbiote after years of it striving to be a hero felt really cathartic after the Cate's run did the same for him and Eddie. Though it would hit a lot harder if Peter was a married man and a father giving this talk to the Venom symbiote since it's also conflicted about its role in the life of its human husband and half-human kid. The new black suit Spidey design also rocked for the few pages we got to see it!
