Conor Gallagher's presentation focused on how we need to surrender all of ourselves to Divine Providence. In his talk, he predicted, "We are entering into the darkest time in modern Church history." Gallagher said, "...(W)e are hitting are hitting the tip of the iceberg on confusion on what legitimate authority is."
The Red Mass which preceded Gallagher's presentation dates back to the 13th century. The Mass and reception were held at the St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

The Red Mass is an annual Catholic Mass for all members of the legal profession, including judges, lawyers, law school professors and students, and government officials. Bishop James D. Conley of the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln was the celebrant for the Mass.
The history of the Red Mass dates back to the 13th century and was celebrated prior to the opening of the Ecclesiastical Courts to petition God's help for those responsible for the administration of justice. The Mass derives its name from the red vestments worn by clergy which represent the fire of the Holy Spirit, and the red robes worn at the time by judges and lawyers.
