Franny and Dan are 22, fresh-faced and unemployed – and they’re about to get married. Much to the chagrin of Franny’s straight-laced mother (Andie MacDowell), the couple follows through with their impromptu LA County courthouse wedding. Hired to write for a television game show, Franny is drawn into the intoxicating world of studio lots, catered lunches, and egos.
Dan meanwhile lands a job as a full-time dog-sitter to a C-list celebrity that requires them to move into the starlet’s home. Between juggling her new career and a growing closeness with an attractive coworker, Franny begins to pull away from Dan. Realizing this but unable to articulate his feelings, Dan retreats into his work at the house with only the dogs and the starlet’s diary for company.
