Palm Beach Shows Its Custom Prowess with the GT60 Jet Drive
A dayboat layout on a large weekender with jet drive for Maine? Palm Beach delivers.
When a client, on their fourth Palm Beach, wanted a larger boat for summer lunches in Maine and there wasn’t a factory boat even remotely suited to the task, Palm Beach delivered with an expansive teak deck, large, banquet-style seating, and a galley fit for a commercial-grade kitchen. This required moving around quite a few standard design features, and fitting jet drives (403 Hamiltons) beneath that teak deck.
The client hasn’t had a single tangle with the ubiquitous lobster pots that threaten prop-driven boats, and lunch has gone off without a hitch all summer long.
We think we’ll be seeing more jet-driven boats from Palm Beach, and with a much more worry-free ride and comparable speeds, they’re making more and more sense.
