Animatronic Singing Birds at the Golden Nugget Laughlin mathematrucker 2012-07-07 | Called "The Birds in the Gilded Cage," these animatronic macaws entertained guests of the Golden Nugget Laughlin for many years beginning in May 1992. Built by AVG Productions, Inc., they performed every ten to fifteen minutes from 10 AM to 10 PM daily. There were five birds total, two males named Frenchie and Mac, and three females named Maude, LuLu and Bessie. This video just shows the top three birds.

Elaine's beloved dog Pepper also appears. Elaine eventually persuades my folks to lug a massive piece of driftwood back to her house (might be the one at the very end of the video). The reason I know is because when I visited a few weeks later the wood was still sitting in Elaine's driveway. Just as I was saying goodbye Elaine noticed it and insisted that it go into the backseat of my little VW Rabbit. It just barely fit, and boy was it heavy! Elaine definitely had a knack for "insisting" on things, and she usually got her way!

When I replayed it for her, she said it would be fine to share it.
