I made all of the changes using JPEXS.The quality and precision of objects' placements progresses every few levels, since I got better at using JPEXS as time went by.I'm happy with how the game turned out, I was able to force plenty of precise movement techniques, use some never before seen concepts and create original obstacles. I'm glad that I was able to show what's possible in this game and with this movement by making this hack, and I hope you will all enjoy trying to beat it.If I were to make the entirety of this hack now I would probably place all of the objects using maths and 400% zoom and beyond, since I did not do that for most of the levels made before 2023 but that is even more painful than playing the game so this is the final version. [WR] Red Ball 3 Any% Speedrun in 4:56.967 Xdxboxjaja 2023-07-25 | Unballievable.I finally did it, my best full game speedrun yet. I can't begin to explain how overjoyed and satisfied I am with this run. When I started this grind my goal was to get a 4:58, as deep inside I knew that a sub 5 would not satisfy me. Sub 5 took me 5 chokes to Boss, which was not the most pleasant experience, but it eventually ended up becoming a reality. Around 1 hour after the first sub 5 which was a 4:59.200, I got a 4:58.833 which could have been a 4:57 had I not choked the boss. Due to that, I decided I would go for a 4:57, and during the 4:57 grind I realized that the NG+ WR was 4:57.067, so I had a glimmer of hope that the next WR would be a 4:56. If it didn't happen, I might have stopped anyways, since I didn't want to enter a vicious circle. Luckily enough, my 4th Sub 5 ended up being the run of my dreams where I didn't choke the boss, and got both the Any% WR, and the NG+ WR without skipping the entirety of level 8. I would say that this is more optimized than my Red Ball 2 WRs, and it's one of the best things that have ever happened to me during my still ongoing speedrunning career. This could not have happened without Cookie, who showed me that strats such as Prexmas 15 and TAS 16 were RTA-viable, and made me realize that sub 5 was doable with the strats we already had when he started his grind. About the potential timesave, the early game (Levels 1-10) was really clean, and a perfect run without a faster 7 strat would shave 4 seconds off the 10 exit at most. The mid-game (Levels 11-16) was alright, with around 1.5s lost in 12, and 1.7s lost in 15. There is a strategy in 13 where you skip doing the ramp PJ, which you will probably see in runs at some point in the future. The late game (Levels 17-20) was great, with just around a second lost to my gold in 18 due to the lever not willing to cooperate the first time. I'm glad I was able to back that up using the helicopter tail, and extremely thankful for the fact that the rest of the run went exactly according to the plan. There is a strategy in boss where you can save 2 seconds by doing a bunch of precise inputs including instant pausing and unpausing by taking advantage of the pause button in the top left of the screen (I was planning to go for this strat if my best possible time was below 4:56.1 going into the boss, which is why the button is highlighted throughout the entire run except for level transitions). However, this instant pausing and unpausing method came in useful in level 7, where I did the blind frame perfect a frame early, and the only way to back it up was to unpause, and pause once again the next frame. Anyway, my best possible time going into boss was 4:54, so I did not go for the TAS strat, and I secured the incredible WR. Removing all of the timeloss from this run would result in a time close to 4:48 (4:46 with TAS boss), not to mention the PJ-less 13 ending which would save around 0.7s, a faster 7 strat that would save around 2, and TAS 17 which would save another second. While this does look promising, it's much easier said than done, and it will likely take a few more advances in the strathunting/setuphunting territory for 4:4x to happen, but it is possible, and it is in a similar spot that sub 5 was back when I got the first 5:0x. I personally believe that 4:4x will happen, I don't know if it will be me, I don't know if it will be Cookie, it could be anyone on the leaderboard right now, or it could be a completely new person, time will tell. For now, I will enjoy the satisfaction that this run has provided me with, and will continue to speedrun Red Ball for as long as I find it enjoyable. Had I not choked boss this would've been the first sub 5, but this is the reality of speedrunning. [PB] You Have to Burn the Rope Any% in 26.565 Xdxboxjaja 2023-04-30 | I tried running this game in November of 2020, and got a sub 28, but did not submit it as I felt like I could get a better time. And here we are, almost 2.5 years later, I am 3 frames away from the WR. I don't think I will go for it as getting 5 explosions at the end is incredibly inconsistent for me, but I'm glad I was able to skip .6xx (my previous PB was 26.730, but I forgot to update the last best exit). I hope this video will bring more runners to the game, as it's one of the many games that I have a strong feeling of nostalgia for, and I consider it to be a really unique flash game. [WR] Red Ball Full Series Speedrun in 29:13 & Red Ball 1-3 in 16:26 - Multiple Red Ball Games Xdxboxjaja 2023-04-18 | 2.5 years of playing Red Ball for this to happen. I always knew I had it in me, I just had to stay patient and keep practicing, improving, and pushing myself to the limits. I wasn't really nervous during this run, I already lost two low 29 paces in v3 this day so I wasn't getting my hopes up, although I'm sure it would be difficult to stay positive if I were to lose this run to v3. Additionally, this was by far the fastest time I have ever gotten in Red Ball 4 Vol.1 in an MRBG run (low 2:5x pace into 13, ended up being a 3:00), a game which I'm not too consistent at, but I was able to really calm myself down and enjoy playing the game. Sure, I played v2 and v3 extremely safe, but thanks to that I was not nervous about the possibility of something going wrong, as the chances were small, and I had a lot of wiggle room for the WR. Do I regret not going all in for Sub 29? No. I'm just glad I was able to improve both WR's in a single run. I have also gotten another 16:30 RB1-3 earlier this day, which was around 0.2 off my previous WR, which was hilarious, but this is what speedrunning is like. I'm not the greatest Red Ball 4 player, but I have become much better at the Red Ball 4 volumes I lacked skill in (Vol.1 and Vol.2) during the past 3 months, and was able to reach my goal times that I had set for myself at the beginning of 2023 in all 3, becoming the 2nd person to get Trifecta (Sub 3 in Red Ball 1, Red and Blue Balls, and Red Ball 4 Vol.1) in the process. I have enjoyed learning how to speedrun each of the mainline Red Ball games, and will continue to do so. One of my biggest movitations was doing what I wasn't able to do in Super Mario Odyssey in the Red Ball Series, which is using strategies learned during IL grinds in full game runs.
