So, as I finished another dreadful day of college, I noticed a VHS tape on the front carpet of my porch. It read "15/11/2001". "A bit mysterious.." I thought to myself. I took it inside the house, and popped it in the VCR. The music played as normal, but something was off. The visuals weren't much like the 1999 logo, so it looked like they were probably done on some cheapo computer program. A voiceover announced that they've rebranded their look live on air, and hoped for the viewers to get a good piece of eye candy out of this rebrand. However, another voice soon shouted that "the logo sucks" and that they were going to destroy it. "Destroy it?" I said in confusion. Another voice soon followed suit and started taking apart the 'I' in the ITV logo and laughed at the company's misfortune, while shouting "Kill it!" The video came to an abrupt end soon after. "...That was strange.." I said to myself again. However, when I went to pop the tape out of the VCR, sparks started flying across my room, and the TV displayed a rather threatening message that said, "ITV1 IS TRASH, STOP WATCHING THIS CRAPPY NETWORK, [REDACTED NAME]!!! - orex and cmr". As the sparks got worse, I immediately ran out of my room. Three seconds later..boom. The VCR exploded. Totally gone, reduced to atoms. At about 5:30PM, I emailed ITV about this "rebrand", and this was their response."Dear, [REDACTED NAME]We understand your concerns. That rebrand was supposed to be kept secret, but hijackers came into our studios and started broadcasting it on the day of the rebrand. On a positive note, the hijackers were eventually caught by the authorities, and are now serving a 20 year sentence. - ITV"To add onto it, they also told me that they did a news coverage of the aforementioned incident. They sent me a link to it and I was intrigued.
