yeah i didn't do a TON of map parts this year, i am now a full time college student and part time employee so i don't have as much time as i used to, but i am still proud of what i put out this year (3 whole pmvs! what!!!) i also got more into stop motion this year and i plan on continuing that a lot in the future!! this video doesn't include collab parts i've done, mostly because i usually just make the backgrounds for collabs, but i tend to share those in community posts! all in all yeah i learned a ton this year and i'm super excited to share new stuff next year. as a secret hint that blurred clip in the opening is a sneak preview of something i'm working on!!

banged out the sketch for this in one night after being struck with the vision...i love eraserhead and this song just fit perfectly. made the video over the course of the next few days. the effects were super hard to nail based on my vision but i did my best :']
the video is based on a specific fear i had as a kid where i would dream an entire life, with a wife and kids, and then die only to wake up and forget those people as if they never existed, and bristlefrost's death scene brought that fear back to me. tried to channel some of that in here.

finally, the product of 4-ish months of trial and error is here, right on time for halloween! this was a real passion project and a big learning experience, as this video is my second serious attempt at stop motion and my first time creating an art doll like this completely from scratch! i wanted to record the process of actually making ashfur for a fun side video but my setup is just awful and i barely had room to shoot this video let alone the process (seriously, i was balancing my shitty phone on a stack of books to shoot this). i might post some wip images over on my twitter though! anyways, i'm proud of myself even though i know there's a lot i could do better, and i do plan to do more stuff like this. i hope you enjoy this video!

cinnabarlab 2021-04-06 | a quick fun map part this time! this map is all single shot parts and i had fun practicing more dynamic composition. the character is blizzardflight who has popped up before but i recently updated her design a little, this is her as an apprentice catching an eagle which is the event that led to her getting her warrior name. oh and if you're wondering about the background her clan, rainclan, has a bunch of thermal pools on their territory and the bacteria/minerals around the pool form some colorful rings! they look really cool irl if you wanna look them up!

cinnabarlab 2021-03-14 | hi hi i seriously cannot express enough how happy i am about. all of this. got called in as a backup to do a part with helen who is one of my FAVORITE characters and means a lot to me, plus this whole map is amazing and encourages being super experimental so i decided to use stop motion! this is my first stop motion map part but definitely not my last (i happen to have one in the works for a certain squirrelflight map ;D) and it was an incredible learning experience. if you don't know i make ooak custom dolls as a hobby and really enjoy sculpting so i made a custom doll for this map and animated her! if there's enough interest, maybe in the future i'll post a doll repaint video like all the cool popular artists lmao. anyways, i am so thankful to be a part of this project with so many talented animators. go check them all out!!

2020 Highlight Reel!

figured it was about time i made one of these! a compilation of my favorite bits from the map parts and memes i've done this year. obviously this year was wild and didn't really go how i planned, i was supposed to start college but couldn't, but hey at least that gave me more time for warrior cat videos lmao! i start for real in about two weeks which is super exciting, but i also enjoyed the time i spent on self indulgent projects and i've been so touched and overwhelmed with the support i've gotten (almost 2k subs wow!!!!) it's hard to pick faves but i think poor george and daisy bell might be some of my favorite animations i've made so far, but i'm excited to see how i'll grow next year! thank you everyone for being here with me and supporting my art!

🤡 Silly Sam 🤡 Complete 72hr Sleekwhisker MAP

cinnabarlab 2020-12-13 | I'm so happy with how quickly this got finished and I am blown away by the amazing work of all the participants! This MAP focuses on Sleekwhisker through a lens of childhood and loss. I think she's a really interesting character, starting off as a rebellious child and by the end losing her mother, her childhood best friend, seeing the rise and fall of Darktail, and killing her own grandfather. I went for a childish dreamlike aesthetic inspired by amusement parks, and I can't get over how well all the talented artists brought the MAP to life! I hope you all like it as much as I do!

halfway through working on this i switched to clip studio paint which im enjoying a lot but also i think maybe the difference is kinda noticeable..oops.

anyways here's gunsight and loudstar! you may remember loudstar dying in a very old map part, this happens right after that. at the time of her death gunsight was basically the only one in the clan that still thought positively of her, and had a crush on her for a long time, so he retrieves her body and takes it to his den for a proper burial that the rest of the clan refused to give her. also, he and her son happen to be the only ones that can see her ghost. fun! (the other cat in the cutoff is her ex-mate frostfeather btw, he and gunsight get into some...disagreements)

Happy Halloween Everyone!! this is my first completed MAP and i'm so excited to share it. i can't thank all the wonderful participants enough for the hard work they put into this, it more than paid off. we even got it out in time for halloween! the final product is beautiful and it's all thanks to the talented people who made this MAP possible.

this MAP follows bramblestar as a ghost trapped out of his body while a mysterious spirit masquerades as the leader, as well as the cats who try to solve the mystery of his true identity, and the horrors they face along the way. i hope you enjoy it as much as i enjoyed making it!

cinnabarlab 2020-07-01 | this map is based on the art of rosina wachtmeister who makes really cool paintings of cats with these crescent faces. it was a real challenge to emulate the style but also really fun to work on! i wanted to do something cute and happy so i went with alderpaw and needlepaw discovering twigkit and violetkit in the sewer. never really cared about pebbleshine but her novella was sweet and it made me think abt them.
