Unfortunately, on of the items we found that needs a little work requires that the engine be rolled back in order to service it. So we brought her over to the Vietnam War Flight Museum to have a lot more room to work and keep everything indoors. This also means that there are some airshows that we likely will not make it to. Aircraft safety is always a priority, and we want the jet to be 100% fully mission capable!

Using a time domain reflectometer (TDR), we were able to get a better idea where the cable fault may be, and it isn't where we thought it would be!

Not much went on with the F-4 but more progress was made on the F-100 Super Sabre. The gearcase was just about ready to be split. Wasn't happening right then and there, so we'll get to see it opened up later. I'll have more next week.

Got the new batteries wired up on the generator. We also tracked down our comms issue with one of the radios in the F-4. And the crew also started opening up the F-100 to deal with the leak.
For those affected by the winter storm, stay warm and stay safe!

Pretty neat that what looks like a turbo is used as the main part of the ECS.
We also get the NC9 back into operation with the arrival of some new parts. Always good to hear that 4-53 Detroit Diesel rumble to life!

Did some crew training today, which included preflight inspections and learning how to pack a drag chute. I will release a couple of videos on those specific topics later in the week. We also started training a new Phantom Phlier!

Need to get a few new parts for the NC-8, and try to get the MA1A start cart operational again. Key word there is try.
Hope you all have good New Years!

While I was gone, our nose wheels were removed and sent to the shop to have new tires installed. Took the opportunity to freshen up the bearings as well. Afterward to re-arranged the office furniture, so to speak. Did some organization as well so now it's a bit easier for us to work with.
Until next week, I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

That took the form of a badly sprained ankle this past weekend. This will limit not only the work here at the hangar, but also the camera work with the videos every week. Wish I had better news, but it is what it is. May likely not have a video out for the next two weekends.

Our start cart has some trouble starting sometimes, and the centrifugal definitely needed some adjustment. Almost got it dialed in before I needed to stop and recharge the batteries.

Getting this squared away now will really help later as more aircraft become operational again, especially the F-4 which is heavily dependent on ground equipment in order to get launched out.
