Troubleshooting the Super Sabre | DT310 Diesel Thunder Aviation 2026-09-20 | Today we take a deep dive in the landing gear system on the F-100 Super Sabre. Engine Is Out | DT300 Diesel Thunder Aviation 2026-07-19 | Pretty big day here at the hangar with a pretty big job. We had to pull the #2 engine out of the airplane! Took longer than anticipated but it was done safely. Now the engine is out and we're able to work on it without and obstructions. We Have Some Work to Do... | DT299 Diesel Thunder Aviation 2026-07-12 | While we are happy that the F-4 is flying again, we need to do some maintenance. Unfortunately, on of the items we found that needs a little work requires that the engine be rolled back in order to service it. So we brought her over to the Vietnam War Flight Museum to have a lot more room to work and keep everything indoors. This also means that there are some airshows that we likely will not make it to. Hanging the External Tanks | DT291 Diesel Thunder Aviation 2026-05-31 | Today was fun, we mounted the external fuel tanks on the wings! These help for cross country flights like when the airplane goes to an out of town airshow. Not required for that but they do extend the range and flight time. Engine Runs and F-100 Update | DT288 Diesel Thunder Aviation 2026-05-10 | Today we made some more sweet noise with those J-79's! Had a good day, though we found that the repair still leaks a little. We also see some more of the seat parts that were put back in the aircraft as well.We also have some good news with the F-100 Super Sabre. She is much closer to returning to flight now that we have a functional sequencing valve installed. F-100 Super Sabre Grounded for the Near Future | DT284 Diesel Thunder Aviation 2026-04-17 | Bad news everyone, the F-100 Super Sabre broke just prior to us launching her out for the Sun N Fun airshow earlier this week. We feel like we owe it to you all that were looking forward to seeing her fly, as to why still is still here in Houston. Quite disappointing, and we always acknowledge that the airplane always has the final say. New Nose Wheels! | DT267 Diesel Thunder Aviation 2025-12-21 | Back in action and it feels great to be at the hangar again! While I was gone, our nose wheels were removed and sent to the shop to have new tires installed. Took the opportunity to freshen up the bearings as well. Afterward to re-arranged the office furniture, so to speak. A Fussy Start Cart | DT265 Diesel Thunder Aviation 2025-11-09 | Today we're working with our ground servicing equipment and also was able to catch our local B-25 in action! Our start cart has some trouble starting sometimes, and the centrifugal definitely needed some adjustment. More GSE Work | DT264 Diesel Thunder Aviation 2025-11-02 | Back at the hangar for more work, and this week we continue focusing on the ground support equipment.
