Spent 6 days taking our time, paddling, fishing and exploring the area. We had plenty of time, so we slowed down to enjoy ourselves. We ate some amazing camp fire cooked meals, caught a lot of fish , explored the Cold river area, took a hike to see the Raquette falls and more!! I have never used a canvas bell tent until now. In this video I go over the set up, some specs, details and my thoughts on this tent after a bit of use. This tent has been pitched in the woods for the past 2 weeks as a hunting camp. It has seen a lot of rain and even a bit of snow. I have camped in it 3 times, the last time I used a wood stove in it. A weekend on Lake George The Queen of the American lakes Its Good in the Woods 2024-10-30 | I recently went on a canoe trip with my buddy Tim and his dog Niko. Lake George was our destination. A place I have not really considered visiting. Lets just say I have been missing out. Lake George is a beautiful lake with deep historic roots. Recommended to me by Tim, we spent a weekend canoe camping on this lake. Once again, another fantastic trip in the Adirondacks. I was so fascinated with the history of this place, when I got home I unpacked my gear and immediately sat down to watch The last of the Mohicans. In the week and a half since this trip I have spent countless hours at night reading about the history of the area. It is just such a fascinating place. So much FREEDOM in one location! 6 Eagles eating a raccoon Its Good in the Woods 2024-10-25 | When I was a kid, a Bald Eagle sighting was a rare thing. Their comeback over the last 30 years is quite the success story. Now an Eagle sighting is a common thing. However, this was the first time in my life I have ever seen 6 of them congregated in one location! We sat there on the bank of the river and watched these Eagles put on a show as they were feeding on a raccoon all morning. This was an incredible experience that I will not soon forget. In combination with a suppressor this is going to be a fun, quiet little rifle! I have long been a fan of the 300 blackout cartridge. As the temperature drops most prefer to spend their time inside. Me, I get all excited about it! Time to go camping. This time I decided to give it a go without any shelter for protection. Just my sleep system. Turned out to be a fun night testing gear and capability. My sleep system is a Thermarest z lite pad, A Nemo Tensor insulated air mattress and my trusty Outdoor Vitals 0º Summit sleeping bag. Test and trust your equipment. We were rewarded with exceptional weather for the last week of the fishing season in Maine! Flagstaff Lake, the 4th largest in Maine. A man made impoundment created by the damming of the Dead River, is a lake rich with history. From Benedict Arnold to the communities that were submerged due to its creation in 1950, Flagstaff lake is a fascinating body of water, with mountain views everywhere. This was my first visit to this lake. In one visit, this has become one of my favorite places. We enjoyed 8 days canoe camping in the area. It was glorious! Thank you for watching. A 50 mile stretch of this 400 plus mile river. Arguably the best stretch of the entire river. I don't see how it gets much better than this when it comes to the Connecticut river.
