Smith and Charles Wolcott.The facial designs of these characters are a stylistic homage to the great Disney animators Les Clark, Milt Kahl, Frank Thomas, Ollie Johnston and Eric Larson.Recording lasted from February 16 to June 7 with some material from years earlier. My life has changed a lot during this time, my significant other confessed her love for me, and in a way, I feel bad for abandoning her company for this, but I've learned so many new things specifically outside the context of the project.Now let me talk about this: This is a true story, not 100% accurate, but it's still pretty interesting. Actually, this was someone that was in my 7th grade class that was very nice to me, and this is the cornerstone of that school year and this friendship from long ago. I censored the girl's name so as to protect her privacy. No I wasn't persecuted or bullied. I have had kids throw a ball at me, but not on purpose.

Mother Lucy is not real.Lastly, the girl in the bubble cloud 💭Tessa is a real person, happily married (not to me lol) and has a family, but I liked her madly back in 7th grade, she was in the 6th grade I wrote "Axel Runs Away" in the style of two Disney composers (from the Walt era) Paul J. Smith and Ed Plumb.The reason this passage sounds radically modern is because I read in an article that Ed Plumb had an interesting ability to "execute dense contemporary sounding passages", these are the words of animation music historian Ross Care, but he instead compared Plumb with Leigh Harline. Before going onto Bambi, Ed Plumb (as an auditon) used Leigh Harline’s material to write the final Whale Chase composition at the end of Pinocchio.I definitely want to hear your thoughts.
The Dwarfs Yodel Song (The Silly Song) redone on keyboard Axel Jacobs 2024-02-16 | Okay, I have been incredibly busy with various other things for a while and to an extent, I still am. But I still want to keep my subscribers posted now and then. The Dwarfs Yodel Song was written by Frank Churchill (no brainer), and it was added to Snow White very very late in production. The orchestrations to this sequence were done by Paul J. Smith, I know this because recordings of his instrumentations have a much clearer sound. I had done this literally a year ago, but got the idea to add a disco drum beat when I recently watched a deleted scene from Snow White of the dwarfs building a bed and the only audio it had was the percussions, which I think were recorded separately. Just the same as with Bambi, whenever I play instrumental themes and cues from Cinderella, there's a distinct feeling you get and you just happen to get a mental picture. What I like about "Dream Is A Wish" is that Oliver Wallace (one of the background score composers) draws on music from albums done by popular artists and stuff you would hear on the radio during the period, and listening to other parts for the first time (drowned out not only by Cinderella singing, but the birds chirping) made me feel like I was in paradise,

Lounsbery had a knack of deeply exaggerating the actions and emotions of broad giant characters. As a person who was born in the 1990's, I can tell you that I somehow have a lot more affection for Disney's old animations than even the renaissance era. And Lounsbery died way too early. This was one of those movie sequences that messed me up as a kid, because for my money there is one scene where the Coachman rips off a boys clothing and he kicks him into a crate (animated by Eric Larson who also draws the Coachman's legs). That's a good way to alienate children from their elders.

Somehow, it occurred to me that my bassoon at the beginning sounded flat and was repetitive. The orchestration for that cue included both a bassoon and pizzicato. Queen Theme/Far into the Forest (from Snow White redone on keyboard) Axel Jacobs 2022-02-23 | I was just ready to upload this, and plus I'm kind of taking a little break from my Bambi stuff. Original score: Frank Churchill, who does the Queen's theme (arranged by Leigh Harline, so it happens to be an obvious premonition to his music for Pinocchio, particularly when Stromboli taunts the poor little guy,) and the part where Snow White is out in the glade). and Paul J. Smith takes over when the princess begins to run into the forest and imagines the attacking tree branches. Paul J. Smith was another talented Disney composer who breathed emotion in music with his unusual chord progressions. He also worked on Pinocchio, Mickey and the Beanstalk, Cinderella, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Pollyanna. Smith did orchestrate bits of Bambi but his work on that film lacks the orchestral vitality of Edward Plumb’s.Smith worked at the studio between 1934 and 1962.
The Death of Bambis Mother (from Bambi redone on keyboard) Axel Jacobs 2022-02-20 | WARNING: This video might be distressing for some people.The original music here was mostly composed by Edward Plumb with some of Frank Churchill's themes being incorporated. Orchestrations were by Plumb and Charles Wolcott.Again, what a lot of Disney music fans don't realize is that Churchill originally wrote the Man theme, but Plumb co-composed it turning into a passacaglia type arrangement that accompanies the three notes. Beautiful choir singing for the Wintery Wind sequences, and what a contemporary sound.

The score conductor Alexander Steinert arranged the "I Bring you a Song" cue when Bambi and his mother are happily playing around the meadow. Evil Queens Transformation from Snow White (Redone on keyboard) Axel Jacobs 2021-10-28 | The music in this video was originally composed and orchestrated (yes, trust me) by Leigh Harline. Harline won two Academy Awards (song and score) for later working on Pinocchio and he was known for executing glamorous theatrical sounding scores throughout his career of freelancing for other Hollywood studios. At Disney, Harline was noted for bringing complex and contemporary sounding music into their short cartoons. On the whole, I think Snow White is his best work. Dumbo Soundtrack Suite on my Keyboard part 1 Axel Jacobs 2021-09-09 | All the music to Dumbo in this little video was composed by Oliver Wallace, with the exception of the Casey Junior motifs (by Frank Churchill), but they were developed by Wallace into the score, Wallace did the “Loading the Train” cues. This was the first Disney movie I had ever watched. The Great Prince, Mans theme (Bambi) on my keyboard Axel Jacobs 2021-08-21 | As you can tell, the first cue is an aesthetic/heroic variation of Frank Churchill's Love is a Song that to me sounds like it belongs in Tarzan. The Man theme which is just 3 simple notes was also composed by Churchill. Edward Plumb was the arranger for all the music here and he expanded Churchill's Man theme (which is why he is credited for it). My version of the man theme might sound more alienating than in the movie. I played all the notes at the same time, that was stressful.

Walt Disney Soundtrack Recreations - Stag Fight from Bambi (1942) Axel Jacobs 2021-03-02 | The composer behind this eerie and gradually explosive musical sequence was Edward Plumb who was a highly trained musician and had experience at Dartmouth college. He first became associated with Disney in 1937 and the first assignment he tackled was being the musical director for Fantasia which was re-assigning instruments to play the classical works used. For Bambi, Plumb orchestrated nearly all of Frank Churchill's material, and as you can already imagine, Plumb composed the more complicated intense passages. Plumb arranged music for a handful of other Disney movies including Dumbo, Peter Pan and Lady and the Tramp.Something that I’m gonna be doing here on YouTube on a regular basis is hopefully playing Disney music on my keyboard.
