But "riajuu" is also somewhat-resentful otaku terminology for a nerd that also has a fulfilling real life (generally taken to mean "has a boyfriend/girlfriend")."Bumbow's the 'captain' " - Ok, the best I could make of this is that it's a two part pun/reference thing - first, Bumboo (bumpety boo), for what I could tell, was some sort of 1980s children's anime about a car that drove itself. It's spelled differently, but they've done stuff like this before (Delsney World, Moho Project, Wanted: Alive or Dead come to mind). So I guess the Umineko version would be "a boat that drives itself?" Hence the captain. The other half of this phrase is a simple pun with numbers: Juuchou is 10 trillion, Hyakuchou 100 trillion, Senchou would come next (meaning 1000 trillion, or a quadrillion. Though another kanji could be used... it can be written this way as well). However, Senchou sounds like "captain," hence the pun.janjan ronpa - might be a Dangan Ronpa reference, because it just sounds so similar (and the second word is the same)chucchu poppo - onomatopoeia for huffing and puffing like a train (or out of breath)...I think that's all. "hakanai" can mean many things - fleeting, vain (as in vain hopes, all in vain), empty, instantly, short-lived... combine it with "chiru" and you get a euphemism meaning "died too soon, passed away." In the end, I just thought "fleeting" sounded best ^_^;;yogoshite - "kegasu" and "yogosu" both use the same kanji, but are pronounced differently and mean subtly different things. "Kegasu" describes something that stains you, but you can wash it off - it's just physical. "Yogosu" cannot be washed off, it's emotional/spiritual and can mean more like "defiled, disgraced". The boy writes in a diary - the "small container" is the diary, I think. He's written in it since he was a kid. One day, it falls open to an entry on a certain girl, and he remembers her. She was always bullied, yet even though he liked her, he would always run away when the bullying started. One day, after trying to raise a conversation with her, she gives him a cryptic message. The next day she disappears - no one in class knows where she went...and I won't spoil the ending. I'll let you see how it turns out.Composer: mafumafuPV: △○□×Vocaloid: IATranslation Notes:This song works with homophones - as you may know, "naku" can be written with two different characters - one (泣く) means cry as in "to weep" and another (鳴く) means cry as in "the sound an animal makes."(There is also a third one (無く) that means "not, without," but fortunately that one doesn't seem to come into play here.). It's a pun that works the same in English, but in this case the words are used for subtle connotations. At when the class is surrounding and tormenting the girl, the word is "nakigoe," "crying voice." But it uses the "animal sound naku." So it's trying to convey that both the cicadas are crying, the class is shouting like beasts, and the girl is crying like a wounded animal. In one word. Hence, the slightly awkward subtitle. Sorry.Also, (I'm not so sure about this one, but what the hell...) "kuremasu" (呉れます) normally, 99% of the time means "to give." But there is another "kuremasu" ( 暮れます,) written with different kanji that means "to get dark, to end." This kanji is part of the word "yuugure" used in the title, so I don't think it's just a coincidence. (BTW, when the word is used in the lyrics, no kanji is used. It means "to give" based on the context, but if the second meaning was implied a little bit, I wouldn't be surprised..)This song omits a lot of participles - in other words, most of the words just slam into one another, making it cryptically vague. I tried to preserve this throughout the song. And I like to be as word-for-word literal as I can, but sometimes it just wouldn't make as much sense, or would be a ridiculously long subtitle. This especially shows in the second-to-last stanza... oh dear. *gulp* Well, either I nailed that part or completely screwed it up... Take my words with a grain of salt. My Japanese kinda sucks. "Deafeningly" - is used as in "painful to the ears." Misleading title as well - I have no idea if this is actually how the end of the PS3 game looks. I just got the images from the game and put them together in a way I thought made sense. And yes, that last image isn't from this scene, but I just thought it was pretty. This isn't a patch - I did edit the images, but I put it together in Sony Vegas.Translation of the image is 99% stolen from Witch Hunt (I had to change the end a bit to make it fit). I am not affiliated with them. I translated the Italian lyrics using Italian dictionaries, the official Japanese translation, and looking at other translations for reference. I own nothing but my editing skills. I just thought it looked beautiful and wanted to share.

Anyway, this is translated a bit differently than you're probably used to. Read more before you rage... Please. I think I'm on to something."Hito to Shite Ore, Jiku ga Bureteiru" is typically translated as "As a person, I'm twisted." (But I have no idea where they came up with that...) Literally it means "As a person, my axis shakes/wobbles." From what I've researched, it's a turnaround of the expression "jiku ga burenai, (Unshakable axis)" which means something like, well, that's where it gets tricky... A person who has an "unshakable axis" is someone with set goals in mind, who is consistent and stable, and knows what they are after in life (At least that's what I got from it.).Naturally, then, someone whose "axis shakes/wobbles" would be the opposite of that: UNSTABLE. Flying about without a goal. Unsupported. Changing their mind/position/stance on life often. Trying to kill yourself every five minutes (Well, not necessarily that last one, but it may come as a side effect...)"jiku ga burenai" ( It can also be read, "Don't let your axis shake!") is also an expression used in sports, as in keeping your balance or just literally not letting a body part move or your stance shift. Could also probably mean "Stay focused!", in a way. Hence, the "athletes" reference. (And that part of the opening animation where Sensei and the kids do that crazy leg lift lean thing -It's in this MAD- might be referencing it.)In short, it's not an expression on its own, it's an ironic inversion/satire of a real one, which fits the series to a T.
