The owner of a sailboat stolen from a New Jersey marina says he never imagined the search for his prized vessel would end with a deadly confrontation in Newport Harbor.

Jim Bonomo has owned Pathfinder for about 10 years. He said he and his wife arrived at Liberty Harbor Marina in Jersey City on Sunday afternoon expecting to go sailing.
