At idonus, we offered him to combine the idonus UV-LED exposure system UV-EXP150R with a motorized XY stage.
We first needed to adapt the XY stage in order for the motors to be able to move a payload of more than 50 kg.
The exposure cycle is launched with a dedicated graphical user interface (GUI). A programmable logic controller (PLC) drives the motorized stage and the UV-EXP150R. The end user simply needs to save his parameters in a CSV files that contains: the X and Y coordinates, the exposure settings.Portuguese retrograde mechanismChristophe Yamahata2018-10-21 | You can download this 3D model on GrabCAD: grabcad.com/library/portuguese-retrograde-mechanism-1Pallweber mechanism: How it worksChristophe Yamahata2018-10-20 | The IWC Tribute to Pallweber Edition “150 years” is a wristwatch with jumping numerals. Contrary to the historical pocket watches, in the IWC-manufactured 94200 calibre, the display discs are powered using a separate barrel. In this way, the flow of power in the main gear train is unaffected.
I made this model entirely from scratch, just from a few photos of the wristwatch. You can download the 3D model of this mechanism on GrabCAD: grabcad.com/library/iwc-tribute-to-pallweber-1 There, you can find the SpaceClami CAD model and a fully animated Blender file. You can appreciate the jumping mechanism when the time changes from 9:59 to 10:00.IWC Pellaton mechanismChristophe Yamahata2018-10-20 | This mechanism was invented by Albert Pellaton to rewind the mainspring in mechanical watches.
This system is used in a surface treatment machine to actively cool down parts that are being homogeneously treated.
The system was entirely designed and manufactured by idonus' team.

A truly nice piece of engineering of our everyday life.

In this watch, two piezoceramic beams are made to vibrate and the generated electricity is directly converted into light. Light Emitting Diodes backlight six of the diamonds set in the dial.

Modern Times is a great choice, a movie with many many gears... The HQ sequence was extracted from the restored version presented in 2003. youtu.be/D2AEcUc8tOA

In this video we demonstrate that the designed micropump is bubble-tolerant (it is also self-priming).Micromanipulation of a DNA bundle with silicon nanotweezersChristophe Yamahata2015-01-07 | Electrostatically actuated silicon nanotweezers are intended for the manipulation and characterization of filamentary molecules. The microelectromechanical system consists of a pair of opposing tips whose distance can be accurately adjusted by means of an integrated differential capacitive sensor. The fabrication process is based on silicon-on-insulator technology and combines KOH wet anisotropic etching and deep reactive ion etching of silicon to form sharp nanotips and high aspect ratio microstructures, respectively. The device was used to perform static and dynamic mechanical manipulations on DNA molecules.HAREM: High Aspect Ratio Etching & MetallizationChristophe Yamahata2015-01-07 | HAREM is a simple bulk micromachining method for the fabrication of high aspect ratio monocrystalline silicon MEMS (microelectromechanical systems) in a standard silicon wafer. We called this two-mask microfabrication process "High Aspect Ratio Etching & Metallization" or HAREM. It combines double-side etching and metallization to create suspended micromechanical structures with electrically 'insulating walls' on their backsideGyroTracker | VeoSwissChristophe Yamahata2015-01-06 | Plate-forme manuelle pour la caractérisation de l'organe réglant des calibres mécaniques.Noise cancelling : A simple demonstrationChristophe Yamahata2014-09-30 | A simple demonstration of noise cancelling using a Hi-Fi stereo system and a mono sound recording.
