When our partners, YIARI, found Zeno, he was being kept illegally as a pet - trapped in a chicken cage outside a house, left in the scorching sun and pouring rain. He had almost no shelter and lived in filth. His fur was dull, his skin dry, and he was weak, barely able to eat.
When he arrived in care, it was clear Zeno needed more than medical help -he needed love, comfort, and a sense of safety.
Because he was still so young, Zeno was paired with Senandung, a rescued female orangutan who had once been kept in a wooden crate for four long years, fed only rice and fruit. She’s now giving Zeno the care and guidance she once needed herself -teaching him how to climb, explore, and find his place in the forest again.
Zeno has already come so far. But his journey back to the wild depends on you.
