2018 was the YEAR to watch the Golden Globes. Between the recent E! pay inequality controversy, the #MeToo movement, and the abundance of Time's Up! pins, this evening showcased A-list celebrities speaking their truth. I mean, Mariah Carey traveled all the way from 2003 for this evening, Kelly Clarkson finally met her idol Meryl Streep, Debra Messing and Laura Dern read E! for filth on air, Seth Meyers had an ACTUALLY FUNNY opening monologue?!?! And Oprah. Oh, Oprah Winfrey. I don't know if she's running for the 2020 presidential election or simply trying to wake this country up, but I certainly feel lucky to be living in the same time as such a compelling force of nature.
