Formerly known as the Howland Preserve, Vosburg Neck State Park is one of Pennsylvania's 3 brand, spanking new parks as of 2022. The 669 acre tract of land was a family owned farm, since 1941, known as Riverside Farm. Ernest Howland, on his passing, left the land to the North Branch Land Trust who in turn opened it as The Howland Preserve in 2006. On September 29, 2022 the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation & Natural Resources (DCNR) announced that the land would become one of it's new State Parks with an official opening sometime in 2026.

The North Branch Land Trust will still be involved in the management of the land as laid out in the agreement between them and Mr. Howland back in 2006.
